Belmont is 7 kilometres east of Perth City, a short stroll to the Swan River where, as mentioned above, there are many activities to choose from. It is a very safe, peaceful, well established suburb. Many amenities are very close by such as Burswood Casino with it’s International Hotel & Convention Centre, the huge Belmont Forum Shopping Mall, movie theaters, restaurants, the superb Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre with its indoor and outdoor pools, state of the art gym, spa/sauna, all the features you would expect from a top end sports and leisure centre (www.belmontoasis.com.au). This house truly felt like home, visiting Perth for the first time. Almost everything you need at home is available here; ie. Cooking utensils, bedding, towels, washing machine, clothes pegs,etc.... more Response: Thank you for this review. You did have a hiccup due the the previous guests taking the internet cable. Thanks for your understanding regarding this. Margaret |

We were fortunate to stay for 4 months a welcome relief from busy Tokyo. Our family really enjoyed our whole stay at the 'Belmont Beauty.' It provided a rare chance to experience the real life of Perth and Western Australia. Many people like keeping lawns so the automatic sprinkler system meant we had no concerns with watering the garden. You will be impressed with the beautiful Jarrah floors throughout it has special meaning for West Australians. Being able to park the car under the garage, promised us a higher price when we sold our car on leaving. Transperth bus stops on routes 37, 98, 99 are close which takes you to the CBD, domestic airport, Oats St. Train Stn., Bayswater Stn., Curtin University, etc. and the huge 'Belmont Forum' shopping centre, by vehicle it is only 4 minutes away. The local shopping strip includes the IGA (supermarket) post-office petrol station and many takeaway food outlets, it is only a 5 minute walk. If you want to have good relations with neighbours, I deeply recommend the 'Belmont Beauty.' The house was fully renovated and full of equipment. We could bake cakes and valued the rice cooker. You may enjoy many kinds of meals with the equipment provided. When we found any inconvenience, the owner gave us immediate kind response. 'Belmont beauty' was a great base, we visited great places near and a far, from climbing Uluru, to Sea kayaking at Penguin island highly recommended also saw wild penguins under the board-walk, sea lions on the beach, pelicans and dolphins. In Shark Bay, we enjoyed yachting on the 'Aristocat 2.' She takes you offshore to meet dugongs and dolphins. Really enjoyed meandering around the Margaret River wineries, a tip - do try the 2009 Voyager Estate Shiraz. To meet kangaroos and koalas, visit the Caversham Wildlife Park. We went to the Araluen Botanic Park, Whiteman Park and weekend markets around the city. This information was recommended by the owner (Thank you!). During the summer months, the sea breeze known as the 'Fremantle Doctor' provides a welcome relief, arriving mid to late afternoon making the whole city cooler, but, when the wind blows over the continent, be prepared for a very warm day. This is the only time the airport changes the landing route, generally they use the main runway which does not affect your time at the 'Belmont Beauty' at all. Hearing the odd airplane noise was more than compensated by the convenience of being so close to the city and many attractions. Again, we really appreciated the owner's kind support. We will choose the 'Belmont Beauty' again on our next stay in Perth. |

This rental did not live up to our expectations at all. First of all the owner forgot to mention that this property is in a flight path and that the noise is deafening, in fact, the planes are so low... more |
