Perranporth

Perranporth was the landing point for St Piran, the Patron Saint of Cornwall and of Tinners, who arrived from Ireland in the 7th Century. The village became a centre for tin mining and then boat building but is now one of Cornwall's premier holiday resorts and surfing destinations with 2 miles of sandy beaches surrounded by high cliffs and low sand-dunes. The beach is cleaned every day in the summer and its water quality meets the highest UK and European standards. The beach is lifeguarded everyday throughout spring, summer and autumn.

The village hosts several good quality bars, pubs, cafe's, restaurants together with a good range of independent retailers, surf shops and surf schools. The Millennium Sundial on the headland shows Cornish time, 20 minutes ahead of GMT – adding to the notion that you have to get up early to catch a Cornishman!

There's plenty to do in and around Perran if you get tired of the beach. Perranporth Golf Club with its renowned links course sits on the edge of the village and overlooks the beach. If horse riding is your thing, Reen Manor Stables offer riding excursions around Perran's wooded valleys or along the beach towards Ligger Point. Alternatively, take a walk along the coastal footpath to St Agnes and enjoy the rugged cliff scenery or head north taking in Holywell Bay, Porth Joke, Crantock, Pentire Head and on to Fistral Beach and Newquay. Or, take a leisurely drive along the coast road through St Agnes, Porthtown, Portreath and on to Godreavy Lighthouse with its 3 miles of golden sand forming the edge of St Ives Bay.

The Annexe at Wyngarth

The annexe is attached to the owner's main home. Wyngarth is situated 2 mins walk from the village centre and 4 mins from the beach; in fact, it's so close that many guests walk down and back in their wet suites. Two good general food- stores are also within a few minute's walk and are open late in to the evening, all week. Local pubs, restaurants, take-a ways, ice-cream parlours and pasty shops, are the same distance. For an early evening drink in a quaint village pub, the Bolingey Inn with its exquisite locally sourced home-made food is only a 15 min walk. Or visit the Watering Hole, the famous Bar and Restaurant on the Beach. So, if you want a holiday where you park the car on arrival and don't want to use it again until you leave, the Annexe at Wyngarth may be ideal for you. Equally Perranporth is placed central in the County, with easy access to the A30 as a centre for visiting other places in the County.

The Accommodation

The accommodation comprises independently accessed entrance to central open-plan living/kitchen. The kitchen has a range of cupboards, drawers, work-tops etc. and includes a washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The kitchen is fully kitted-out with cutlery, pots, pans, bowls and plates etc. The dining area has a pine table and chairs. The living area has comfortable modern settee, coffee/occasional tables, a leather recliner, flat screen TV and DVD. There is independent access off the living/kitchen to an external patio area and adjacent cloths-drying line; a must for drying those wet suites! Off the living/kitchen area there is the main bedroom with a new locally-made king size pine bed, a pine hanging wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps. The en-suite shower-room has a shower, washbasin & WC. Both the living/kitchen and double bedroom overlook the properties rear garden. To the other side of the living/kitchen is a walk-in wardrobe through which access is gained to the second bedroom incorporating two new locally-made pine single beds with bedside tables, lamps and pine shelving unit. This also has an en-suite shower-room with washbasin & WC. The Annexe is centrally heated and double-glazed. Floors to the living/kitchen and main bedroom are tiled with a pine floor to the second bedroom. On-site parking is available as is Wireless broadband. Sorry, but no smoking in the Annex. A well behaved friendly dog is welcome, at a small extra charge.Families and couples and maybe single-sex groups if they are bona-fide surfers. The annexe is available as single or two bedroom accommodation.
