Rose Hill Cottage is a Beautiful, Victorian, semi detached, Cornish stone cottage, set in its own grounds with a private garden and parking for 3 cars. Carefully renovated, with original wooden floors and beamed ceilings, this unique cottage comprises of 3 bedrooms: 1 with a king size bed, 1 with a double and 1 with twin beds (which could be pushed together). 1 stunning family bathroom with a shower and bath, 2 reception rooms, 1 with a log burner and a large kitchen/diner with range cooker. The cottage opens onto a patio and garden benefitting from a south facing aspect, where the sun reaches every corner. Situated just on the outskirts of Goonhavern, surrounded by footpaths and beautiful countryside, the cottage is a short drive away from Perranporth town. With its stunning 3 mile beach, fantastic surf, shops,restaurants, tennis courts, golf course, riding school, gym, sky diving centre and other village amenities, Perranporth has something for everyone. Rose Hill Cottage is also ideally situated if wanting to visit other parts of cornwall. The city of Truro and the tourist hub of Newquay are both within a 15 min drive. Slightly further afield are the Eden project, Padstow, and St Ives. Rose Hill Cottage is an ideal holiday home for both families and couples.

Perranporth

2 miles to Perranporth beach, which is possibly the best in Cornwall with 3 miles of golden sands, an array of rock pools and water sports to suit every member of the family. A variety of pubs, restaurants and seaside shops including the Watering Hole set directly on the beach making it the pefect spot for a sundowner! 6 miles to St.Agnes, a sweet little local beach with a couple of cafes overlooking the beach, a pub and some excellent rock pools when the tide is out! The famous Watergate bay is 13 miles away, just the other side of Newquay, with Jamie Oliver's restaurant 15. Padstow and Rick Steins empire is a 40 min drive away.

"Lovely family home but not what we were hoping for..."

We were rather sad to have had this feedback 10 months after your stay as all the comments that were left in our visitor's book were so positive. Last year was our first year of letting and there are various things that we have addressed for this coming season: We have raised the garden wall, which has made the garden very private and significantly cut down any beach road noise. We have added a gate to the patio area at the front of the house making it a lovely, enclosed space. The rest of the garden is also enclosed with a gate at the bottom of the driveway making it very secure.
As we stated in our property listing, Rose Hill Cottage is a victorian cottage and as with many victorian cottages, the kitchen is situated at the back of the house where it is darker and cooler. We find this to be quite a blessing in the hot summer months. The windows in the kitchen do actually open, however, they had been recently painted and we wonder whether they may have been a bit sticky. The reception rooms at the front of the house are lovely and bright and these too are typical of a traditional Cornish cottage. Guests often find the fact that there are two reception rooms to be a positive, as the children/adults can escape to another room if they wish.
With regard to your comment about "personal bits and bobs" being left around the home, we are a little bewildered as to what you mean. The cottage is furnished, however nothing of any personal significance was left.
Your comments obviously express your personal preferences and we are only sorry that our cottage was not the place for you.

We are so pleased that you loved our home. Letting was a new experience for us and you were our very first guests. Your words of advice in our guest book from your own experience of letting have been helpful as have the comments in your review. We were surprised to hear that you were troubled by traffic noise, we find that our proximity to the road leading to all neighbouring beaches is a plus. We have, however, raised the wall height significantly which has reduced what road noise there was. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.
