Open plan downstairs with log burner, firewood usually provided plus electric heaters. Immersion heater and electric shower, £1 coin meter allow up to £2 per day. Stereo has 3.5mm input jack for your personal music player. Dog acceptable. Please contact us if you need something not listed that would make the difference to your holiday. We have conceded the battle on tv and there is a portable tv with freeview, normally in the front bedroom, with aerial point in the living room

The West Country region

Cornwall has always been a great holiday attraction with it's fabulous beaches and the road network is so improved that it can be reached in 4 hours from London or the midlands. The dual carriageway comes within 6 miles. Newquay airport (30min) connects with London and the rest of the world

Cornwall is a county of contrasts and there is no better base to explore it from than Perranporth where you can go from the vast beach of golden sands with dramatic cliffs and sheltered sand dunes through moorland with characteristic saltburned gnarled trees and ruined engine houses of the tin mine era, to the tranquil wooded estuaries and harbours of the fal within 15 miles.


Perranporth has always been a favourite with holidaymakers. The 2.5 mile golden sandy beach is clean and has lifeguards in attendance and was featured on the tv programme seaside rescue. It is well known for surfing (lessons and hire available), body boarding in the waves, swimming in the tide filled rock pool or paddling in the shallow stream-great for toddlers. There are great pubs and restaurants to choose from suiting every taste from the Wetherspoons Green Parrot to the famous Watering Hole, an Aussie style Beach Bar popular with locals and holiday makers. Eden Project, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Lands End and Heligan are all about half an hour away, but you could spend your whole holiday in Perran and never need to stray

"Great house to relax in"

"Home away from Home"

We enjoyed our stay very much indeed. Nick and Jane are great people. Comfortable house, excellent location within easy walk of town and beach. Highly recommended. We wanted to go back this year but were too late to book.

"Excellent family accommodation"

We have been lucky enough to stay in this property on two separate occasions. The house has fantastic views and is very well located for the shops and beach and for exploring more of Cornwall.
Our party consisted of 4 adults and 4 very young children....we all felt at ease here and there was plenty of room.
The house is in good order and pleasantly decorated with a Cornish seaside theme running through out! It was well resourced with everything you could need and we found it clean and tidy.
The owner were extremely friendly and are always willing to help!

After our third year, with a visitors' book full of praise and many returning visitors, it's very disappointing to get our first negative review.

Most of the comments are disputed, and others are too late to check, but we realise we cannot please everybody. These visitors could see clear pictures of the house including the low bed (as bought from Ikea) and if that was an important factor they should not have booked.

We are not going to address every point, but the shower was working before and after their visit - the insulation tape is a second defence against water ingress - and if they couldn't turn on a shower it says more about their competence than about the equipment. We believe their ability to write an objective review should be seen in the same light.

We are more than happy with our cleaner. These visitors had dogs like others, accordingly the furniture is not brand new, but it is comfortable and hygienic. On that subject I am happy to defend our practice of leaving new, wrapped STs in the bathroom for visitors who might need them in an emergency. It's no different to leaving a supply of new toilet tissue.

These visitors need a reality check. This house is about HALF the cost some properties with similar facilities and location are achieving. Sorry, but we are not going to scrap a safe, working microwave because it's internal paint needed retouching. They broke the toilet seat and didn't tell us , so it was too late to replace causing us embarrassment with the next visitors.. We were in attendance during the early part of their stay, and in a position to rectify their concerns, however nothing was conveyed except their satisfaction with the house.

We hope this doesn't put you off booking 13 Liskey Hill. It's a great place to have a great holiday at a reasonable cost. The review says more about the reviewer than the house

"Comfortable accommodation in convenient location"

We enjoyed ourselves at this house (14-21 July 2012) and felt at ease there. The party was quite large (6 adults, 2 small children, 1 baby and 1 dog) but we did not feel cramped. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and, of course, Perranporth was heaven for the kids, who are eager to return. Views from the house are spectacular, especially from the loft. Parking is limited but extra cars can be parked either on the verge or further up the road. Convenient for the many West Cornwall attractions.
