Occupying delightfully landscape mature gardens with views across to the sea, Sunbury Court is a four-bedroom detached property, in a quiet residential area but within a five-minute walk to the magnificent beach of Perranporth, well known for its swimming and surfing. If however surfing is not your thing the huge expanse of the soft golden sand is perfect for sandcastle building and the walk along the cliff tops is exhilarating for its scenery. In the village you will find surf schools, a variety of small shops, cafes and bars with numerous local activities such as horse-riding, tennis, bowling and gliding. A regular bus service from Perranporth can take you to Truro, Newquay and St.Ives making this an ideal location for your family holiday. The accommodation is homely and inviting, has deceptively spacious rooms with large windows and sea glimpses from the lounge and two of the bedrooms. With a mixture of traditional and contemporary furnishings, the comfortable accommodation is well equipped for a family holiday. The elevated gardens to the rear are quite secluded and bounded by high hedging where there is a patio with ten steps leading up to a grass area supplied with garden furniture and a built in BBQ.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Portreath is on the North coast of Cornwall, it has a splendid sandy beach set amidst rocks and rockpools excellent for surfing and bathing. There is a harbour that dates back to the 18th century and the village has plenty of local amenities including a supermarket, bakery, restaurants and pubs.

Truro is the city of Cornwall located mid-way between the north and south coasts. The city has a fine selection of shops, restaurants, a museum and a magnificent cathedral, which was built between 1880 and 1910. On Boscawen Street there is a splendid city hall (Hall For Cornwall) built in 1846 that has recently benefited from an extensive interior and remodelling program.

St.Ives with the sun on the water is breathtaking. There is a wonderful Museum, Tate Gallery and a delightful village with beaches, small gift and craft shops surrounding the fishing harbour that helped St.Ives grow to prosperity. A scenic coastal railway trip can be used as a park and ride connects St.Ives with Lelant at Hayle. Hayle is still a working port and some of its piers and jetties date back to the 18th century.

Falmouth is a very popular holiday resort located on the west of Cornwall. There are 4 main beaches, Gyllyngvase, Castle, Swanpool and Maenporth, a perfect arena for sunbathing, swimming and sandcastle building. The bustling town centre contains many of the expected high street names, alongside specialist shops with great maritime charm.

Sheltered from the Atlantic winds and the surfing seas. The Southern coast offers a much calmer part of Cornwall with small towns, fishing villages, harbours and a choice of historical gardens. The spectacular Eden Project (home to a dramatic global garden the size of 30 football pitches) is located at Bodelva near St.Austell and Par.

The Perranporth area

An ideal location to stroll along the west facing 3-mile stretch of fine, golden sand surrounded by high dunes and cliffs, or one may wish to explore the many caves and rock pools. Perranporth is a true surfers paradise, whilst also popular for those who wish to have a swim or a relaxed paddle in the sea. Throughout the summer season you can be entertained in the beach pub/restaurant/takeaway The Watering Hole, with various live bands, ranging from the easy listening Jazz Bands, to Reggae Bands and Rock Bands etc. The beach is an ideal location to keep the younger members of the family occupied, with childrens go-karts, slides and a ball pool operating throughout the summer season. An 18-hole links golf course, gliding, flying clubs, boating, bowling, horse-riding, tennis and fishing lakes are all in the village with numerous small shops and restaurants to cater for everyone.

“Ideal beach holiday for teens” House clean, tidy, well furnished (Beds comfortable) and brilliantly situated close to beach, shops and all facilities. Brilliant set up in that there are 2 TV rooms...so one for games and one for telly. We had 4 teenage children (14-17 years) and 2 had to share a double bed. A second twin room would be a huge improvement. Fab utility room for dealing with wet and sandy beach gear especially once we worked out how to open the garage from the inside so they didn't have to trail through the house. 2 bathrooms and 2 extra loo's were also a real help. I found the kitchen excellent although some may resent the absence of a dishwasher. Duchy holidays were very efficient and the owner of the property very pleaseant and accommodating. A problem with the washing machine was dealt with promptly and effectively.

“Homely Holiday Let” Lovely 4 bedroom home with suntrap courtyard and larger seating area on the lawn up some steps. Shower room upstairs, bathroom with shower over bath downstairs, and a separate toilet. Well equiped kitchen, laundry area with washing machine tumble dryer and drying area - iron and ironing board provided. Sea views from lounge and 2 bedrooms. Study overlooking courtyard with a sofabed doubles as an extra bedroom at a push. Dining area with large table and sun lounge also has a smaller table. 5/10 minute walk to supermarkets, duck pond and playing fields, 10/15 minute walk to beautiful beach, small promenade area at seafront with benches and grassy area for ball games. Public toilets in beach car park. Perranporth village has a lovely seaside 'bucket and spade' holiday feel to it.
