Situated up a private driveway with no immediate neighbours thses 2 properties are surrounded by fields. The large shady walnut tree beside the barn offers plenty of shade.
The 10 x 5 metre exclusive swimming pool is situated to the right of the barn adjacent to the cottage and is in full sun all day. There is a metal gazabo for shade and sun loungers, this idyllic pool offers amazing views.

Separate terraces with plenty of outside garden furniture and BBQ's.The large shady walnut tree beside the barn offers plenty of shade.

The Granary is tastefully furnished. The kitchen has oven and hob, double sink ,American fridge freezer and washing machine. The spacious entrance hall is tiled with local stone giving it unique character. The dining area, with its large oak table, offers stunning views over the Dordogne countryside. The lounge area has comfy chairs and wood burning stove for those winter evenings snuggled infront of the fire. With three sides of the barn having terrace there is plenty space for either sunny or shady areas.
With 3 Bedrooms upstairs, one double en suite, with bath, one twin and one single the Granary comfortably sleeps 5 people. The main bathroom has bath, separate shower, basin and toilet. There is an additional toilet and basin on the ground floor.
All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with sumptious fixtures and fittings. Luxurious matresses of high quality. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed. All the bedrooms offer great views from their dorma windows.
Often during the balmy summer evenings passing deer can be seen from The Granary. There is an abundance of wildlife, birdlife and assortment of wild flowers, with wild orchids growing in the verges leading to Lavaud

All of our guests comment on the setting and the fact that photos do not do it justice. A total haven.

Prices are per week.
Inclusive of electricity, gas, heating and bed linen.
Winter lets incur a heating charge. (it is fully central heated with underflooring heating upstairs)
Saturday to Saturday bookings arriving at 5pm and departing by 10.am.
A deposit of 30% will confirm your booking along with receipt of the booking form.
The remaining balance payable 8 weeks before the holiday.
A breakage deposit of £350 required, this is payable at the time of the remaining balance.

Location
Although rurally located Lavaud is near to plenty of local attractions, including caves, chateaux, quaint villages and restaurants. With St Jean de Cole only a few minutes drive away this beautiful village has been voted as one of France's prettiest. The magnificent chateau at Jumilhac is well worth a visit along with the Venice of the Perigord - Brantome.
For the more adventurous of you then there is canoeing at Brantome or on the River Dordogne near Le Bugue.
Being just 3 hours drive away to the Massif Central for skiing and 3 hours drive to the coast those of you who wish to venture further afield can easily do so. Bordeaux is just over 2 hours drive away.
With the capital of the Dordogne, Perigueux, being only 30 mins away a visit to the old town is a must. The twice weekly market and vast choice of restaurants will make the trip one to remember.

Nearby there is horse riding, golf, fishing and canoeing, acro parc. There are also swimming lakes with beaches and waterslides.

Had 2 weeks in August 2011 with family of 5. Really loved the house and the location - perfect. Location was very peaceful - if you wanted to do very little you could because the house had everything you needed. Great for chilling out. The amenities in the house were very good and it was very clean when we got there. Would heartily recommend this and would come back again. |
