Home description
The gite is a stone property recently renovated in a traditional style providing ample space and comfort for a family holiday. There are terrace areas and a barbecue as well as lawns and a small woodland.
The hamlet of Lanneaud is tucked away from the main roads and calmly nestles between agricultural land and woods. The surrounding area is renowned for its gastronomy and the local market at Thiviers is famous for its duck, foie gras and truffles.
The accommodation is spacious with each of the 3 bedrooms measuring approx. 18 x 18ft. The are distinct kitchen, living and dining areas within an open ground floor.
For those more interested in the local history or architecture, why not visit the local chateaux of Jumilhac, the village of St Jean de Côle (classified as 'un des plus beau villages de Fance')or Brantôme, the 'Venice of Perigord'.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The Dordogne is a mostly rural department with a rich history. Some of the earliest traces of mankind were found in the area and prehistoric caves show evidence of former peoples.
Many chateaux can be found all over the area but particularly in the Dordogne Valley to the south of the Department. The area around the gite is very rural and whilst there is plenty to see and do, its calmness is really best suited to a 'get away from it all' holiday.
Perigueux / Thiviers area
Brantôme is approx 25mins away and along with many other small towns, offer excellent culinary opportunities. The main attraction of Thiviers is its market rich with local produce.
Other attractions within easy reach are the chateuax of Jumilhac and Puyguilhem, the Grottes de Villars and the small but historic and attractive St Jean de Côle. Within 20 minutes is Perigueux, the capital of Dordogne and approx 1 1/2hr to the south is Sarlat the jewel of the Dordogne. 1 hr to the north is Limoges.
How to get there
International airports are 1hr away at Limoges and 1 1/2hrs away at Bergerac.
Gite is situated 5 minutes from Thiviers rail station which is on the main line from Perigueux to Limoges.
