The Farm Cottage has been renovated retaining its oak beams and original features, it is south facing , peaceful with wonderful views and is totally independent with its own gated entrance, parking area and large fenced child friendly garden. The cottage is set in its own large private garden with an above ground 5mt pool and is just 10mins from the bustling town of Thiviers.
Set on the edge of a small hamlet 3k from the bustling town of Thiviers, which is the capital of the Fois Gras region of the Perigord. There is a choice or 4 supermarkets, numerous Banks, Bars, Restaurants and Boulangeries and a Saturday Market.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The Dordogne offers a multitude of choices for all tastes, especially famous for its cuisine, fois gras and truffles and many delicious duck dishes.
There are many stunning Chateaux and gardens, with Hautefort, Puyguilem and Jumhilac, within easy reach, prehistoric caves, beautiful medieval cities and villages such as St Jean De Cole which is 6k away and is listed as one of "Les plus beaux villages de France", and Brantome "The Venice of the Perigord" with its must see Friday market, canoeing, and boat trips.
Perigueux is only a 40min drive away with its Cathedral, narrow streets, and colourful markets.
St Yreiex La Perche with its many porcelain shops and market, and Excideul an interesting market town with its Chateaux are a short drive away.
Perigueux / Thiviers area

There are many walking and cycling tracks.
Nantheuil which is only 10mins drive (or a nice bike ride) away and has a large lake with a sandy shoreline, refreshments at a bar.
Corgnac sur I'lsle which takes about 20mins has a Velo Rail Track, great cycling fun in picturesque countryside.
How to get there
Flybe and Rynair budget airlines fly to Bergerac and Limoges most days. Speed Ferries sail every day from Dover to Boulogne Many ferries from Dover to Calais Euro tunnel is also a very easy way to cross.

Further details indoors: The Lounge/Dining room is 6mt x 6mt and has been newly furnished with two settees, pine table and chairs, Freeview English TV DVD, Radio cassette player, books and games, there is also Oil Fired Central Heating and a wood burner fire which makes the cottage suitable for all year rental.
The separate large newly fitted kitchen has french doors to the outside, and contains - built in electric oven and a gas hob, dishwasher, Fridge, microwave. In the cave underneath the house is a washing machine.
The bathroom, also recently updated contains bath over which is a thermostatic shower, a vanitory unit and WC.
Further details outdoors: The cottage is set in its own large private garden with an above ground pool 5mt x 1.2 deep to cool down in along with sun beds with covers, and table for your comfort. For the younger children a swing set is available, and for the energetic table tennis, badminton, swingball and 3/4 Snooker Table. It is all surrounded by 5acres of the owners land with views to die for.
For nature lover, deer, foxes and wild boar can be seen from the terrace and garden.

*The cottage is available all year as it has Oil Fired Central Heating and wood burning stove fuel for which is included in the price which is available from October to March .

Please note a 25% non-refundable deposit is required on booking, the balance due for payment 6 weeks prior to your arrival. A security deposit of 150 euros, payable in cash on arrival which wil be refunded on your departure once the cottage has been c hecked by the owner. Your travel insurance should include the appropriate cancellation cover and public liability.
