Home description
Situated at the top of a private road atop a hill, with commanding views of the rolling Marche countryside and the Apennine mountains, Casa delle Querce stands in half a hectare of beautifully maintained grounds.
Casa delle Querce was purpose built as three separate holiday homes, all of which are on two floors, with three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and spacious lounge-dining room, with a log fire. Each home has its own private entrance and veranda with garden table and chairs, leading to the surrounding garden.
The three homes share a lovely private swimming pool, situated above the building to catch all the sun. Shaded by trees, the pool area has a simply beautiful view right out across the valley.
The surrounding countryside is ideal for walks and the nearby historic towns are ideal for exploring, and sampling the fantastic local foods and wine. Casa delle Querce is ideal for families, couples or groups.
Prices and rooms for the "Frontone" home in Casa delle Querce are listed here but details for the other two holiday homes are available. Please contact the owner or see the website below for details.

The Marche / Abruzzo / Marche region
Le Marche is one of Italy's best kept secrets. On Italy's East coast, between the Adriatic and Apennines, the Marches are relatively undiscovered, yet surprisingly accessible. A mosaic of ancient cities, rolling hills, dramatic mountains, hidden valleys and long, sandy beaches, Le Marche is an outstanding holiday destination. The inland area is almost tourist-free and the local people are friendly and helpful to strangers.
The landscape of Le Marche ranges from undulating agricultural fields and vine clad slopes to snow-capped mountains and dramatic gorges. The winters in this region are always snowy and there are several ski resorts in the area, whilst the summers have Mediterranean sun and heat.
Le Marche is rich in historical, artistic and cultural heritage which has been preserved and unlike its neighbours Umbria and Tuscany, is relatively undiscovered and still unspoiled by tourism.
Every small hilltop village in this region has a beautiful church and a welcoming bar, but more than that, throughout summer and autumn each village has its local festa or sagra, usually based on produce from mushrooms, sausages, fruit, wine or chestnuts depending on the season. It is a time for eating and drinking, processions, music and dancing.
Pergola area
Pergola, the nearest town to the house, is an historic town with winding streets and beautiful old churches. It has a wide selection of fantastic, reasonably priced Italian restaurants and cafes.
The area surrounding the house has several other villages and towns for you to explore. Each holding its own historic castles, churches and museums, along with delightful cafes and restaurants.
The whole area is a walker's paradise with many mountain paths, guided walks if you require, and a stunning array of wild flowers to be seen.
There are several places to go for wine tasting in the area, and you will be able to sample the excellent and reasonably priced local wines.
If you want to travel further a field it is easy to go on day trips to Tuscany, Umbria and the coast at Senigallia.
It is also the perfect place for relaxing by the pool.
How to get there
You will need a car to access the house, which is situated about 10 minutes up a private road. The cost of hiring a car is relatively cheap and is easy to do on-line before departure or at any of the airports. A car also allows you to explore Marche and the surrounding area whilst you are here.
The nearest airport to Cassa Delle Querce is Ancona, serviced by Ryanair and just over an hours drive from the house. Bologna and Rimini airports are also easily accessible taking approximately an hour and half to two hours. British Airways fly to Bologna and Easyjet to Rimini. It is worth investigating and booking in advance as the prices can vary from day to day, and less expensive fares can be booked early.
It is possible to drive to Marche from Great Britain. It takes approximately two days.

Guestbook for Casa delle Querce
"We had a truly wonderful time here. Finding a holiday spot for a a family of five is never easy, but we all had a great time. The views from the castle are out of this world. When we managed to drag ourselves away from the pool we had a great day out at the caves and the water park was great fun too. My youngest was particularly excited to see the rabbits in the field at night!"
The Merry family, Cardiff
"Wonderful weather, the best wine outlet we've ever been to and a pasta shop in Frontone we wanted to pack up and take home with us. Leaving was really tough, but we know we'll see it all again when we return"
Helen and Ben, Leeds
