About the home

A very spacious newly renovated 18th century Farmhouse. This house comprises of six bedrooms that can all be either double or single beds. (All beds are zip/link divans). Four of the bedrooms are en suite and the other two share a shower room.

The house is set in an acre of land and at the moment sheep are grazing in the back garden!

This property is absolutely ideal for large families and groups of friends.

The Normandy / Manche region

The Manche is also the French name for the English Channel. This department is almost a peninsular and points to the North-West below England.

The department played a very important strategic role during the second World War, with the Axis making a strong hold of the important port of Cherbourg.

The islands of Jersey and Guernsey are a few miles to the west.

The Percy area

The pretty market town of Percy is just a 1 kilometre drive away and has a supermarket, shops and Bars hosts a market on Saturdays selling fresh farm produce. The larger market town of Villedieu Les Poeles, 10 minutes away, has an indoor swimming pool, large weekly market selling everything from food to clothing. Villedieu has fine shops, restaurants and is famed for its pretty copper ware.

Closer to the Farmhouse you can enjoy countryside walks, cycling, horse-riding, golf, fishing, sailing, tennis and many other activities.

Le Mont St. Michel, France's second most popular tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower is just a half hour drive away. Other nearby tourist attractions includes the Bayeux Tapestries and D-day Landing Beaches.
The pretty fishing port of Honfleur, with its maze of cobbled, pedestrian-only streets and excellent seafood restaurants, is a wonderful day out. The seaside resort of Granville and the quieter, natural beach of Brehal are just half an hour away.

“Beautiful house, beautiful location” This is the third time I have stayed at the house and have booked again next year. Lots of nice size rooms, a large dining area and lounge. Ample parking for cars and a nice seating area outside. I've already booked for next year

“A lovely house - great place to spend a week with friends” Went with a group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the week. The house has been beautifully restored and it was good to have en suites with most of the bedrooms. Great outside space for playing boules etc and barbequeing/eating outside. Good location, just outside village so walking distance to boulangerie to get breakfast. Lovely surrounding area and only about half an hour drive to nearest beach. Would certainly recommend it and would love to go there again in the future

“Delightful. What an enchanting house. We really relaxed.” This is a beautiful house. It has been tastefully modernised without losing it's essential charm. Everything worked, it was clean and well presented. The holiday was very good value compared to other houses of this size and high quality. The area is a delight. “Wonderful location” We loved La Maison Du Chene. It is a large, clean, well equiped house, ( the beds are particularly comfortable).There is a lot of space but it still retains a homely cosy feel. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area and we particularly enjoyed our visit to the WW2 beaches. We hope to re-visit soon! Response: Thank you for your kind comments

“Ideal break in a beautiful home in a peaceful location” Booked this cottage for a group break over a bank holiday long weekend. Owners were friendly and informative and gave clear instructions as to how to access the property and easy to follow directions on how to get there. On arrival met by local french representative who gave us a short guide around the property. Property very clean and comfortable. We were four couples sharing, and still had rooms left over to choose from!! The village of Percy is a short walk away nearby, with everything you need, with a supermarket and local butchers and a couple of patisseries for fresh bread and cakes!. We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside and used the BBQ. Visited the WW2 beaches and the pretty city of Rennes. We all agreed a great place to chill out and relax. “Very comfortable house” This house is very good for a large group. It was very comfortable for all of us. Easy to cook and sit everyone down for a meal. The only thing missing was something for our kids to do outside the house, like tramboline or swing. Response: Thank you for this very useful feedback. I really like the swing idea. We will look in to getting a swing in place ASAP
