L'Hamel Riche Farmhouse sleeps ten comfortably, is situated close to the the village of Percy and 20 from Saint Lo in lower Normandy. The farmhouse is away from any main road and has a single track leading up to the property. L'Hamel Riche is located in the lower area of Montabot, which is a commune in the Manche dιpartement of the Basse-Normandie. The Farmhouse is a superb choice for anyone who wants to get away from it all and yet is only 50 minutes from Ouistreham, Caen and 1-½ hours from Cherbourg.
Sitting in a valley, in Montabot, LHamel Riche was once an active dairy farm which sits in 18 acres of beautiful French countryside. It has a very Normandy/Celtic feel to it, is basic, but clean and comfortable. The building is over 100 years old and is still an active agricultural farm with cows dotted around in the nearby fields. L' Hamel Riche is the perfect choice for families, friends, or couples who want the ultimate in comfort, privacy and relaxation. Whether you choose to enjoy the peaceful surroundings or go exploring in the nearby villages or towns, a rural/rustic farmhouse awaits you and is truly an experience not to be missed.

Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky tidal island in Normandy, France. It is located approximately one kilometre off the country's north coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. It is the most visited site in France and not to be missed, but get there early in the day as it gets very busy! (30 minutes).

Percy area
Montabot is a commune in the Manche dιpartement of the Basse-Normandie region of Northern France.
Basse-Normandie is an administrative region of France. It was created in 1956, when the Normandy region was divided into Basse-Normandie and Haute-Normandie.
There is an abundance of things to do within Normandy with the sandy beaches only 30 minutes away. St Martin de Brehal and Hautes plague (15 miles/30 minutes) have beautiful sandy beaches perfect for families with a couple of restaurants. Arromanches also has lots of wide, safe and sandy beaches again great for the family.
Many visitors also practice their Golfing skills on the local courses, go fishing in the nearby rivers and lakes, go walking on the public paths, cycle on the quiet country lanes, or go horse riding from the many stables in the area. You can even go rock climbing or canoeing if you wish.
The nearest supermarkets to L'Hamel Riche can be found in the towns of Percy and Tessy-sur-Vire. Each town is about 10 minutes from L'Hamel Riche and both have banks/ATM's if you require them. The supermarket in Percy is open from 9.00 am to 12 noon and from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm. It is located on the Villeddeu road as you descend the hill.
Saint Lo has plenty of good shops and a fantastic market, which opens on Saturday mornings. Also, please bear in mind that the majority of shops all over France are closed on Mondays.

The farmhouse is situated near the town of Percy and 20 minutes from St Lo. Full driving instructions can be obtained from us upon booking/receipt of payment. Travel by Sea Brittany Ferries run regular services from: Poole to St Malo(1Ό hrs drive) Portsmouth to Cherbourg (1Ό hrs drive) Portsmouth to Caen (Ouistreham - 1 hrs drive) Portsmouth/Plymouth to St Malo (2 hrs drive) Dover to Calais Condor Ferries - Poole to St Malo (2 hrs drive) LD Lines - Portsmouth to Le Harve (1 hr 45min drive) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Travel by Rail Euro-Tunnel - London/Dover to Paris the farmhouse is some 330Km (3½hrs) away by motorway. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Travel by Air Aer Lingus - Dublin to Rennes 1½ hours motorway drive to the house. Further details indoors: L'Hamel Riche farmhouse sleeps up to 10 people and consists of 5 double bedrooms, entrance hall, lounge, kitchen, a shower/bathroom.
As you enter the farmhouse you are greeted with a large entrance hall. Opposite the entrance hall is the shower/bathroom.
A fully fitted Kitchen is to your left and comprises of a dishwasher, washing machine, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and everything you would expect in a fully managed kitchen.
To the right of the entrance hall is the lounge. Here you can enjoy the large open 'Normandy' fire place whilst you relax to the radio or cd player. There are plenty of board games and books for your enjoyment.
At the end of the entrance hall, to the left, are the stairs. These lead up to the landing and to the bedrooms.
Upstairs you will find the 5 spacious double bedrooms - 4 double and 1 twin.
Further details outdoors: The garden contains various pieces of garden furniture aswell as a BBQ and Picnic set. There are also Bicycles, Badminton Rackets and a Boules set which you can use.

The prices for L'Hamel Riche reflect the fact that (summer school holidays apart) it will not always be possible for us to arrange for cleaning before each set of guests arrives. Please, therefore, leave the cottage as you would expect to find it.
Please bring your own bed linen and towels. Double and single duvets plus pillows are provided. Bed linen is available upon request but these must be laundered prior to departure.
