The Costa Calida/Murcia region
Perfectly located, Peraleja Golf Resort lies only 20 minutes from the wonderful beaches of the Mar Menor and less than 30 minutes from the historically important city of Murcia.
From its elevated position some 200 metres above sea level; the resort enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The Spanish village of Sucina is located only a short drive from the resort and has all the amenities you would expect from a small local town with supermarkets, a pharmacy, bars and a bank.
Peraleja Golf Resort is located within easy distance of the regions main airports. San Javier- Murcia airport is only 15 minutes from the resort while Alicante airport is less than 45 minutes away. A new airport at Corvera which is due to open in 2009 will be situated only 15 minutes from Peraleja Golf Resort and as a privately run airport will attract many of the low cost, airline carriers. The entire region has benefited enormously from the substantial amount of monies invested to improve infrastructure and an excellent new motorway network connects the regions most important towns and cities.
Murcia enjoys an exceptional climate, with an annual average temperature of about 20 degrees, it also has the warm seas of the Mar Menor, a unique sea inlet. There is over 250 km of unspoiled coastline with endless options for water sport enthusiasts while the safe, sandy beaches are perfect for beach loving families.
Traditionally reliant on the agricultural industry, Murcia is home to some of the most fertile land in Spain and offers visitors a beautiful and unique landscape to explore. Peraleja Golf area
The Peraleja Golf is situated 200m above sea level nestled under the mountains near the Spanish village of Sucina in the beautiful unspoilt countryside of the region of Murcia. The golf resort was designed with special attention being paid to space, the result is a resort with one of the lowest property density in the local area with large open gardens filled with many varieties of indigenous plant life. The 18 hole, par 72 golf course which all the properties for sale surround was designed by Spanish golfing legend Seve Ballesteros, and leads the golfer on a tour of some breath-taking views of the mountains and sea. Sucina is easily assessable, it’s only 15 minutes to the local airport in San Javier, 15 minutes to the beaches at Mar Menor, and only 20 minutes to Murcia the regional capitol.
How to get there
Fly to Murcia San Javier airport (20 minutes easy drive to the villa) or to Alicante airport (50 minutes drive, mostly on motorways) which are served by many of the low cost airlines including EasyJet, Monarch, Ryanair, Flybe, BMI, BMI Baby and Jet2 from a large variety of UK airports, and also by British Airways from Gatwick to Alicante.
Car hire is easily available at both airports (eg Europcar, Hertz and Avis). At Murcia San Javier airport the car hire desks are in the same hall as baggage reclaim so it is easy for one of the party to organise the car while others wait for baggage.
Local taxis are available from both airports.
