Perelada is a privileged town situated in north of Catalonia. It has the stunning Castell, where every year is organizad the music festival. Next to the small town is situated Golf Club Perelada. This zone is denoted from the Dalí's art work. It is 20 km far from Costa Brava, small beaches in wild natur and the largest Palette of aquatic sport and entertainment.
The Casa-Convent has been restored with simplicity and delightful taste.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

Geographic extension and data:
The province of Girona is within Catalonia, it covers an area of 5,885 square kilometres and is situated in the extreme northeast part of the Iberian Peninsula, between 41º40' and 42º30' latitude and 5º27' and 7º longitude East.


The Pyrenees are its northern border, between El Puig de Querol and El Puig de l'Abet Coronat, near Meranges and the Cape of Cervera, which submerges into the Mediterranean Sea.

The western border is a broken line that separates it from the province of Barcelona. The coastal strip is its eastern border, which extends along 158 linear kilometres (85 nautical miles) or 256 kilometres of the intricate profile of the Costa Brava.

Demographic data: 663.793 inhabitants

Climate: In keeping with its geographical diversity, there are numerous climates and microclimates in the area, which depend on the altitude and proximity to the sea. Overall, it could be said that the area enjoys a warm, gentle, Mediterranean type climate, characterised by hot, dry summers and moderate winters.


Peralada area

Medieval village of Peralada:
About 500 AC, a group from the Iberian tribe of indiketes built what would be the first walled village of Peralada.
Transformed into the centre of a country from the Carolingian Empire in the 9th C, Peralada became one of the main capitals of l'Empordà throughout the Medieval Age. From this bright period there are still many buildings and monuments left which make the delights of the visitor who discovers the secrets of a millennial village.

General Data: Peralada stands up a little hill in the middle of l'Alt Empordà, strategic situation that has turned this village into an important crossroads since old times.

Saint Domènec's Cloister: This Romanesque monument which dates back to the 13th C. is the unique vestige left from a convent of AUGUSTINS founded during the second half of the 11th C. A series of capitals decorated with biblical and profane scenes are the main attraction of the cloister.
