BookThe West Country / Cornwall region
West Cornwall's rugged coast and superb beaches make this an ideal location for those who love the outdoor life. Surfing beaches nearby include Sennen and Gwinver, whilst those just looking for somewhere to relax will enjoy the crystal clear water and white sands of Porthcurno and Pedn Vounder.
Walkers can explore the South West Coast Path which runs through Mousehole and for those who just want to relax and not do anything too strenuous, there are some superb restaurants where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch and just admire the view.
The Penzance / Mousehole area
Mousehole is a small traditional Cornish fishing village 3 miles from the town of Penzance. The village has two excellent restaurants and a traditional pub, as well as some interesting shops and art galleries.
At Christmas, the famous Mousehole lights draw visitors from all over the country. December 23rd is Tom Bawcock's Eve. Tom Bawcock, according to legend, saved the village from starvation by setting out to sea in treacherous, stormy conditions, to catch fish to feed the village. This is celebrated each year by a lantern procession and the eating of "Star Gazy" pie, in the local pub.
Art lovers should visit St Ives ,with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum. Other places of interest are Marazion and St Michael's Mount, the open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno and the picturesque village and harbour at Lamorna a 3 mile walk from Mousehole along the spectacular coast path.

Feel very lucky to have found Millpool. From the very first interaction with Louise, the owner, to finding and accessing the property, to enjoying its super facilities, and finally leaving, we felt incredibly well catered for and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. In our mind it's location can't be beaten - Millpool is in a pedestrian only area so is quiet - so perfect. One moment its lovely kitchenware and soft furnishings gave it had a boutique hotel quality, and then the next, the log stove was fired up giving the cottage a lovely cozy feel. Perfect for those looking for authentic Cornwall. |

We have stayed in this cottage on more than one occasion - in fact next year will be our fifth year in 2 Millpool - we have holidayed in Mousehole for 16 years and this is the best cottage we have stayed in. Why? because of its location - it is well within the village but not on the main drag - the cottage is positioned within a garden square - so a lovely view from the front windows - the facilities that the cottage offers are fairly extensive - washing machine etc - flat screen TV/DVD's for those days when it's too rainy to venture very far. The cottage is also very comfortable and homely - it has the feel of a home and not just a rental place with tacky stuff around - the harbour is close by and is beautiful as are the walks - the walk over to Lamorna is just lovely - we saw dolphins in the harbour last year - lizards on the walk over/ buzzards/wildflowers etc. Mousehole also has a couple of excellent restaurants - one in particular is the best place I have ever eaten out at - what's more to say - just go there |

2 Millpool Terrace is a gorgeous place to stay. It has all your home comforts and everything you could need in the kitchen should you wish to eat in! The owner has prepared a great welcome information pack which gives details of all the nice places to visit and where to eat, all of which (which we tried) were 10/10. It is very close to all the local shops, restaurants and harbour. This was our third time at the house and this time we took family and our 8 month old. The Manager arranged for a cot to be put up which saved us taking our travel cot and he lived very near which was nice to know, should we have needed anything. We would highly recommend friends and family to stay at 2 Millpool Terrace. |
