Barn | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Words are impossible when trying to describe this perfectly formed little bolt hole apart from absolutely charming, very pretty, totally enchanting and the fact that it benefits from being located on a stunning and secluded private estate just minutes away from some of the best beaches in Cornwall! A former hayloft to the Alsia Mill Estate, The Barn has been completely renovated for the ensuing season and has been transformed into a fabulous and beautifully appointed little retreat for two. Decorated throughout in a soft pastel palette of white and grey, this captivating and charismatic little property has a wealth of traditional features such as exposed granite coin work, ceiling beams and stripped original pine flooring on the first floor. The Barn nestles in the very heart of the estate, enjoying a south facing aspect from the kitchen stable door which leads onto a very pretty and secluded rear garden which is laid to lawn and is perfect for al fresco eating as it captures the sun for the majority of the day. Available to rent throughout the year, The Barn has digital electric radiators to provide instant heating as well as a baby wood-burning stove for when the winter gales howl across the Atlantic and you need to get warm and cosy! The Alsia Estate is privately owned and comprises of The Barn, The Studio (which can also be rented alongside The Barn for a total of four guests), a Grade II listed water mill and the main house which are not currently rented although there are plans to renovate The Mill to provide a third holiday rental property in the future. The buildings are surrounded by 4½ acres of grounds comprising formal gardens, an orchard, lawns, trees, shrubs and streams crossed by a number of foot bridges and access to the estate is via a ford. Guests are positively encouraged to wander and enjoy the grounds but asked to respect the privacy of other guests. Alsia Mill is located twixt Sennen Cove and the village of St. Buryan, both of which are literally a few minutes drive away in either direction. Sennen Cove and its fabulous mile and a half of white sand is a surfing Mecca and a must for a relaxing day on the beach. The quaint Cornish village of St. Buryan has two convenience stores (one is also a Post Office), an antique shop, a garage and a locals' pub serving good honest Cornish produce and local beers. The world famous Minack Theatre is a ten minute drive away as is the spectacular Ped-n-Vounder beach at Porthcurno. Digital cameras are extremely good in this day and age however it is nigh impossible to savour the real essence of this little property and to convey its magical location – you'll just have to book it and come and experience it for yourself!
