Bursting with olde worlde charm and character, this quirky and enchanting little property was converted from two fisherman cottages in the early 1900’s and it still has two winding staircases at either end of the cottage that lead to the two individual bedrooms!
Ocean Cottage has recently been renovated to cater for today’s busy and demanding clientele yet the owners have been careful to ensure that it remains exactly as it should - a wonderful and unique little fisherman’s cottage with plenty of history, beamed ceilings, leaded light windows, nooks and crannies - all just waiting to be discovered! Immediately behind the property lies a maze of narrow little lanes and alleyways – some only wide enough for a cart – that hide a fascinating collection of quaint pubs, galleries, fisherman’s cottages and ancient sail and net lofts.
The bustling commercial fishing port of Newlyn continues to thrive and is home to an array of vessels ranging from huge ocean going beam trawlers right down to little mackerel boats that ply up and down Mounts Bay on a daily basis. Ocean Cottage is a lovely holiday home which is suited to either couples seeking a little more “me time” or young families that wish to explore the area.

Penzance / Newlyn area
Newlyn is a lively fishing port, stuffed with cosy fishermen's cottages, twisty streets and alleys on the western edge of Mounts Bay. St Michael's Mount itself is visible (legend has it, the island was a side effect of two giants throwing huge lumps of rock at each other) across the bay.
Cornwall's attraction are all nearby by road, or for the more adventurous the Isle of Scilly are a helicopter ride from Penzance heliport. There's a strong artist tradition in the area and many galleries and museums are available. The Tate Gallery over at St Ives is definitely worth a visit.

Step down to Kitchen: Fitted wooden worktops with a mixture of fitted and free standing furniture. Tiled floor, ceramic hob and electric oven, washing machine, microwave and Belfast sink. Stairs to first floor bedroom. Stable door to fully enclosed courtyard garden area overlooking a large “local green” and Newlyn harbour. Shower room with thermostatic shower and cubicle, hand basin and WC.
First floor: Bedroom One: Double bed with additional furniture and views over the harbour. Bedroom Two: Twins with additional furniture and similar views. Digital TV. A high chair, cot and stair gate are available upon request.
Further details outdoors: Outside: Small enclosed courtyard area (which runs across the front of the property) with suitable garden furniture and BBQ. Parking is available in the harbour car park 200 yards from the property (it is possible to pull up in front of the property to off load and load luggage etc)
