St Clement's Cottage
Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
St Clement's Cottage is situated in Mousehole, Cornwall.
It is a one bedroomed ground floor cottage offering easy access and has a view over the rooftops to the sea and a glimpse of St Clement's island after which it is named.
It is a mere 150 m from the quaint and historic little fishing harbour and beach of Mousehole with a fine selection of cafes, art galleries, a pub, a deli, general stores and Post Office, and restaurants and car parks clustered around it.
The cottage features many original paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptural pieces and is furnished and equipped as befits its main use as the owners own home.
Mousehole is the quintessential little Cornish fishing village with its narrow streets and alleyways and flower filled gardens making it a delightful place to explore and relax in. There is a safe swimming beach in the harbour and from which small boats and canoes can be launched
The cottage is compact with the entrance leading into lounge/kitchen/dining area. A doorway leads to a lobby with wardrobe, shelving and storage and from which the bathroom with toilet, washbasin, bath with shower over, heated towel rail and also the bedroom with a double bed, chest of drawers and chair are separately accessed.
Although one could happily spend one's entire holiday in Mousehole it is within easy traveling distance of Porthcurno, Lands End, Sennen Cove, Pendeen, St Ives, St Michael's Mount and the Lizard peninsular. A delightful way to get to those places is on the top deck of the regular open top bus service around the Penwith peninsular.
The cottage includes Internet, LED flat screen TV, DVD player and an extensive collection of books and maps for visitors to enjoy.
There is on street parking in Mousehole with several non dedicated spaces adjacent to the cottage. There are also 3 car parks, the nearest 200m and the furthest 400m away.

The West Country region
Mousehole lies in the Penwith area of Cornwall which is the furthest SW part of the county.
Penwith is a place apart with its dramatic coastline enjoying wide golden beaches and secluded coves too. There is safe bathing (often with life guards in attendance) and on the Atlantic coast boasts some of the best surfing in the UK.
There is spectacular cliff top walking, stone circles and other prehistoric sites to visit , together with old engine houses and the remains of the tin and copper mines that once provided much employment in Cornwall.
There are numerous art galleries and museums all over Penwith most notably the Tate Gallery in St Ives and The Penlee Gallery in Penzance both of which have international reputations.
The climate is mild and supports a variety of sub tropical plants and there are many wonderful gardens to visit.
There are a wealth of places to eat out in, often in locations that overlook the sea. These range from cafes, pubs and restaurants and Cornwall is gaining an increasing and deserved reputation for the quality of its food (especially seafood and locally sourced produce) and drink.
There are many festivals and events that occur throughout the year.
For those wishing to visit the Scilly Isles there is a daily ferry service from Penzance and frequent flights from Lands End airport.
Mousehole lies on the National cycle route No 3 leading to Lands End in the west and to Penzance, Marazion and St Michael's Mount in the other direction.
It also lies on the SW coastal path
