Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6

One of the oldest properties in Mousehole, Waterbury has been completely renovated and is located within 40ft of this much sought after and picturesque little crescent shaped fishing harbour – perfect! There are numerous benefits to renting this delightful old fisherman's cottage however the primary reason must be its location in that you can walk out of the front door and in seconds you can access all of the amenities that this quintessential and bustling Cornish village has to offer without even reaching for your car keys! Waterbury dates back over 200 years and has been completely renovated for the ensuing season to provide very good quality and affordable accommodation. During the renovation, the owners of the cottage have provided every possible comfort for 21st century living however, they have also been careful to retain as much character and charm in the property as possible. The exposed granite walls, original beams and narrow staircase with its rope banisters exude a rich heritage of maritime history with the walls no doubt hiding numerous tales of daring sea faring deeds from traditional pilchard fishing to smuggling contraband and being pursued by the revenue men! Once described by Dylan Thomas as the prettiest village in England, Mousehole continues to battle against the advancement of the modern era to preserve its unique character and Cornish culture. Visitors can wander the many donkey wide alleyways, passages and tiny streets that are filled with quaint little cottages, galleries and restaurants. The village is well served with good little shops selling homemade pasties, a good local's pub and three very good restaurants to suit all budgets.
