Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4

The history behind this beautifully presented and romantic little fisherman's cottage could be straight from the pages of a Daphne du Maurier novel! In the late 1800s during a howling gale and huge seas, a young mariner en-route from Ireland was shipwrecked on St Clement's Isle just offshore from the village of Mousehole. Once recovered, Seaman Torrie settled in the village and raised a family. There have been Torries in the village and surrounding area, ever since. For the last 20 years of his life, grandson Marrack lived in this cottage, hence its name.

This charming end of terrace property has recently been completely renovated and transformed into a spacious and simply delightful holiday home that is ideally suited to a young family or just a couple seeking a little more space and some solitude! Furnished in a simple yet elegant style and decorated in warm off white colours, the cottage has a very fresh and welcoming ambience. Storage heating and the addition of under floor heating in the shower room together with the installation of a wood burning stove in the lounge broadens the off season appeal of this pretty property which would be extremely cosy in the depths of winter or over the Christmas & New Year holidays. Situated on the north side of this much sought after village, Marrack's Cottage benefits from a small front patio area with extensive views across to the village, harbour and sea and is located at the end of a traffic free terrace which is just a short stroll to the pretty, crescent shaped harbour, gift shops, pubs and restaurants.

Entrance through front stable door to spacious open plan living area with wood floors, sofa seating, dining table and chairs, Granite feature fireplace with wood burning stove, hand made window shutters, Flat screen Freeview TV, Blu-Ray DVD player and iPod docking station, BT Home Hub WiFi available.
