Dating back over 300 years, Fradgan Cottage is one of the oldest and most enchanting cottages in the ancient port of Newlyn. As far as records can tell, the cottage was a former dairy in the centre of Fradgan Meadow which is a far cry from its current location which is deep in the heart of the village with its maze of donkey wide streets and surrounded by similar historic fisherman’s cottages. Apart from its olde worlde external appearance, there is nothing ancient about Fradgan Cottage which has recently undergone a complete renovation programme to bring the property into the 21st century and up to the ever increasing demands of current letting standards. The result is a very pretty and quaint holiday home with every modern convenience which has the added benefit of an unusually large walled back garden which is partly laid to lawn with a patio/BBQ area that catches the sun for most of the day. Newlyn, although now joined at the hip with Penzance, still retains its village atmosphere with a large selection of pubs and restaurants, a butcher, bakers, numerous art galleries and several wet fish shops selling some of the finest fresh fish and seafood in the world – all within walking distance of the cottage and so no driving! This is an ideal family holiday home from which to explore this magnificent and picturesque peninsula which has so much to offer.

Penzance / Newlyn area
Newlyn is a lively fishing port, stuffed with cosy fishermen's cottages, twisty streets and alleys on the western edge of Mounts Bay. St Michael's Mount itself is visible (legend has it, the island was a side effect of two giants throwing huge lumps of rock at each other) across the bay. Cornwall's attraction are all nearby by road, or for the more adventurous the Isle of Scilly are a helicopter ride from Penzance heliport. There's a strong artist tradition in the area and many galleries and museums are available. The Tate Gallery over at St Ives is definitely worth a visit.
