The West Country region

West Penwith or 'The Land's End Peninsular' is situated in the far South West of Cornwall and is arguably the most picturesque area of the country. The Peninsular has diverse land and seascape with hidden sandy coves some of which are only accessible by scrambling down rocky cliff paths. It boasts long golden beaches, ancient moorland, rolling farmland, shipwrecks, sunken treasure and iron age settlements. Lands End is a stone's throw away with its rugged cliffs and tales of mystery and buried treasure under the waves.

The far west of Cornwall enjoys one of the mildest climates in the country which makes it a perfect getaway all year round.

Penzance is a busy market town and boasts a variety of great bars, restaurants and cafe's. Located within easy reach are the city of Truro and the sailing capital Falmouth. If it's surfing or sunbathing you're after or perhaps a romantic walk along a deserted beach then you can are spoilt for choice with some of the area's best beaches on your doorstep such as Sennen, Praa Sands and Porthcurno. The Eden Project is also only a 45 minute drive away.

The famous St Michael's Mount (described as the jewel in Cornwall's crown) and Lanhydrock House are located close by or you may chose to take a day trip to the Isles of Scilly on 'The Scillonian'. The terminal and ticket office is just a short stroll from the holiday homes.

A particularly enjoyable and picturesque journey is from Penzance via St Erth to St Ives. Once a small fishing village St Ives has grown to become one of the most famous & popular seaside towns in Cornwall which attracts scores of holiday makers every year.

There is so much to do and see in this special part of Cornwall whether it be walking along the miles of coastal paths, taking part in water sports, including surfing, dolphin and whale spotting, bird watching, rambling, cycling, relaxing on one of the many stunning beaches, visiting the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno or the myriad of art galleries – there is something for everyone.

"Excellent Location, Well-equipped and nicely designed"

It was centrally located in Penzance, just 5 minutes away from the railway station and bus services from Penzance. he main shopping area at Market Jew Street was just behind Wharside Shopping Centre, so we didn't have to go far to get anything we needed for our stay.

The apartment is very tastefully furnished and designed, with plenty of lovely small touches that fit the seaside theme. The kitchen was especially well-stocked with more than enough equipment for our use, although the colander has probably seen better days.

We had occasional problems with the hot water, sometimes the water would suddenly turn freezing cold in the middle of a shower. Also, the floorboards on the first floor were extremely creaky, especially in the bathroom. However, these were minor inconveniences that didn't mar an otherwise lovely, wonderful week in Penzance.

Some little suggestions: We thought it'd be good if there were some extra toilet paper rolls as we ran out halfway through and had to buy more. Also we wished there was a scouring pad for washing dishes in the kitchen, and extra bin liners for the rubbish bin.

Hi and many thanks for your positive comments and suggestions.

We will address the water temps as a priority, thank you for highlighting this. We do provide toilet rolls, bin bag and washing up utensils however as we are self catering, do not provide these items for the duration of your stay.

We look forward to welcoming you again soon

"An excellent holiday home."

We had a wonderful holiday staying at Mast Tops. The house was very clean and had everything you could want for - and the welcome pack was very useful too! The house is situated in the town of Penzance close to the bus and train station, which makes it a good place to be if you have no car. We travelled all around the coast and were within easy travelling distance of many well known costal villages. Grace was very helpful and we hope to return before too long.

"Just perfect!"

The house has been decorated very tastefully, and is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you could ever need! The Location is superb with a shopping mall and Iceland / Tesco just below, the high street with many shops and restaurants is just behind the property. On the front side is the beautiful harbour of Penzance and you can get lovely views of St Michael's mount at Marazion. Secure parking, bed linen, towels and also free WiFi was provided which is all one can ask for. Penzance makes a good base for exploring Cornwall with St.Ives, Hayle and many popular beaches all very close by. You can also explore areas like Truro, Mullion and Lizard easily from Penzance. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely stay at Wharfside Holidays when we return to Cornwall.

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you back very soon.
