Home description
A Detached Stone Barn which has been fully restored and converted into a delightful cottage, providing a blend of comfortable modern convenience with traditional style. Many decorative features reflect the rustic atmosphere of a traditional Cornish cottage; sprays of dried flowers adorn the top ledges of natural timber windows and a mini wooden dresser is decorated with a pretty display of blue and white pottery. There is much use of exposed timber, including beamed ceilings, which gives the property a great deal of character. Night storage heating ensures comfort throughout the year, and there is a selection of books of local interest.
Fringing the West Penwith moors and situated in an area steeped in Celtic history, archaeological antiquities and tin mining heritage, the cottage is set in an ancient hamlet, Lower Boscaswell, which now adjoins the lower edge of the village. Flanked by a rugged and dramatic coastline and bordered by fields, which are part of the oldest working landscape in the country dating back to the Bronze Age, Bowjy Coth is sited in a Conservation Area, which is also officially designated as an area of Special Scientific and Scenic Interest. It is also adjoining one of the sites in Cornwall recently awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO. The National Trust Coastal Path is within a few minutes walk. This is an excellent family holiday home in a lovely peaceful location with excellent views to the Atlantic Ocean and Pendeen Lighthouse.
