Cornwall is one of the most beautiful areas of the country, miles and miles of quiet sandy beaches, and gorgeous inland scenery.
Enjoy a walk along the coastline have a traditional cornish cream tea.
Steeped in history from shipwrecks and sunken treasure to ancient monuments.
Sea is all around with cliffs and coves at every turn.
The Penzance / Newlyn area
Newlyn is a lively and traditional fishing port of great character and charm, one mile from Penzance and one mile from the quaint village of Mousehole, home to the famous "Penlee Lifeboat". Newlyn has numerous art galleries and is home to the famous Newlyn School of Art.
With a lovely pebbled beach that stretches for over a mile sat beside a large green with a superb childrens park, it takes you on the the promenade in to Penzance and to the famous open air lido.
The colourful and bustling harbour boasts one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK and offers several fish markets selling locally caught fish and seafood daily.The village is only a 10 min walk, so take a morning stroll and see the fish markets in action, there are 2 quays full of fishing boats.
The pretty village of Mousehole is a short distance away, and its a pleasant walk or cycle from Newlyn. Within minutes you are in the countryside and can find Lands End, Sennen, Porthcurno not too far away.
The ferry to the Scilly Isles is in nearby Penzance, running daily trips or take the helicopter for quickness, the islands are beautiful.
The promenade has spectacular views over the bay and St Michaels Mount, whereby you can take a leisurely walk, or use the cycle path, over as far as the train station and the wharfside shops.
There are some fabulous restaurants in the town, ranging from Indian, Thai, steak houses, pub grub and the meaderies just for some chicken and chips!
All in all a perfect base to explore all Cornwall has to offer, and a perfect way to wind down from everyday stress and return home rejuvenated.
