The Penzance / Newlyn area

Newlyn is a lively & traditional fishing port of great character and charm, situated just one mile from both Penzance & Mousehole.


The colorful & bustling harbour, home to the well known 'Penlee Lifeboat', boasts one of the largest shipping fleets in England and offers several fish markets selling fresh locally caught fish & seafood daily.

Steeped in history and world known for its huge artist community producing some of the finest Artists' both past & present, Newlyn has numerous art galleries and is home to the famous ‘Newlyn School of Art’ and ‘Newlyn Art Gallery’.

The village offers a good range of amenities, with numerous fresh fish markets, a butcher, two bakers, chemist, newsagent, green grocers, florist and a co-op offering a good choice of foods.

There is also a good selection of restaurants’ and pubs.

With a lovely pebbled beach that stretches for over a mile sat beside a large green with a superb childrens park, it takes you on to the Promenade in to Penzance and to the famous open air Lido, Newlyn is a perfect all seasons location
