Built in the 17th Century, Blazes Stable has been creatively and skilfully converted by local craftsman and artists to create a spacious, light and apartment .'

Being just a 10 minute drive to numerous sandy beaches and situated in an area of outstanding beauty in the heart of the countryside, with tracks and trails quite literally on your doorstep – the very ancient 'Chysauster iron age Village', Ding Dong mine ,men-an-tol, Mulfra Quoit, The Nine Maidens.

Noongallas Farm is at the end of a mile and half long unmade lane off the village of Gulval.

The local pub in offers superb choice of menu using local produce and a fine selection of ales. Penzance is just 3 miles away. It is the ideal base to explore West Cornwall.

No longer a working farm, it does however have a couple of resident Hens and a couple of friendly of cats and dogs. The Farm also offers camping in neighbouring fields during the warmer season.

The barn has been converted in to two quirky self contained 2 bedroomed apartments : 'Blazes Stable' with a large sunny garden and Martins Place' with a large sunny roof terrace - it is possible to rent both apartments together for those families or larger groups wishing to holiday together.

Each apartment sleeps 4 people but can accommodate a further 2 by way of a bed settee (Max of 6 people per apartment)

The property enjoys filtered water via its own natural spring, electric heating and solid fuel stoves.

All fuel is provided along with a super welcome pack of tea, coffee, cheese, bread, milk, fruit juice and wine. You my also receive a number of fresh free range eggs, laid by the resident hens although this is subject to 'laying'!

The property also has a beautiful conservatory with table and chairs, sofa and Piano, leading out on to a sunny garden enjoying countryside views.

Please note, rentals during the dates listed below offer a £45 discount for 2 people of less sharing:

All prices are inclusive of bed, bed linen, towels and all utilities including solid fuel.

Bed Settee available, therefore can accomodate a further two people (accomodating 6) - an additonal £45.00 per week is payable for more than 4 people.

One well behaved and house trained dog is most welcome - strict terms apply - an additional £20 per week is charged for dogs.

The most Westerly market town in mainland UK, Penzance has much to offer. A comprehensive shopping centre with a diverse range of galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Penzance is now on a par with St Ives for it's arts culture, with many art galleries. A very large number of renowned artists live and work in West Cornwall, making Penzance a sought after holiday destination.

"Nice location, shame about the mold and beds"

Thank you for your comments, some of which I am a little surprised to read.
The cottage is a converted Granite Barn that is over 200 years old.
Having spoken to the owners, following your review, I am aware that during your stay you had contact with them (as they live in the Farmhouse opposite the barns) on several occasions so they are perplexed as to why you did not raise any of these concerns to them at the time of your stay or indeed made contact with Cornish Retreats to allow us to address the issues at the earliest opportunity (rather than air your grievance on a public forum after your return home and preventing us dealing with your concerns). Had you done so we would have been in a position to relocate you to the adjacent property straight away if we discovered that these problems existed.

The owners assure me that the shower was repaired immediately and they even went to the extent of making up the second bedroom to accommodate you as a result of your request, due to your self-confessed snoring problem. The frame of the double bed is hand crafted by a local, well known & sought after artist and is in keeping with the overall character of the barn. The actual mattress is of good quality with a medium firmness although i am sure you will appreciate, as with hotel beds, it is nigh on impossible to ensure that the mattress will be to everyone's liking. However, reassuringly, to date, other than yours, we have received no complaints regarding the level of comfort it provides. A simple telephone call highlighting any specific lumbar requirements would have negated this issue.

As far as your wife's allergies and your sinus infection are concerned, we cannot make assumptions that this was as a result of the alleged condition of the cottage as it is not unusual when a period of warm weather follows a cold spell, as it did on this occasion, for pollen levels to increase thus causing hay fever, sinus problems etc.

You are correct in stating that there had been recent heavy rain fall, with this in mind and due to the cottage being constructed from Granite (which is by its nature an extremely porous rock) & that we are now at the start of a busy holiday period, the property had recently been spring cleaned, redecorated & the carpets cleaned in readiness.

We are pleased to say that neither guests who stayed the period prior to or after you experienced these same problems.
