The West Country region
West Cornwall has a spectacular rugged coastline and an ever changing landscape. Cornwall is an all weather location that offers something for everyone.
This south west county enjoys a milder climate than much of England, and consequently Cornwall has long been a popular all year round self catering holiday getaway. The North Cornwall area provides the best surfing in England, with towns like Newquay, Perranporth, Polzeath, St Ives and Bude filling with enthusiasts every year.
The most Westerly market town in mainland UK, Penzance has much to offer. A comprehensive shopping centre with a diverse range of galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Penzance is now on a par with St Ives for it's arts culture, with many art galleries and the recent addition to the town of 'The Exchange' gallery. As a very large number of renowned artists live and work - indeed gain their inspiration - in Penwith, it is certainly making Penzance a sought after holiday destination.
Steeped in delightful architectural buildings with all the history to go with it and enjoying one of the longest promenades in England, Penzance is fast becoming known for its individuality, magical scenery and generally mild weather - although it is a pretty spectacular experience to watch the occasional storm!

"What a surprise"
We booked this trip as a late anniversary present and havent been to Cornwall for many years. We were overwhelmed with the position of the cottage and the decor was charming. Sympathetically decorated to the art deco style of the house and the surroundings with the lido and other surrounding art buildings.
The kitchen is light and spacious and the bath and shower of good quality. As mentioned in the book the view is not a complete 360 degree panoramic but it works and you are able to see the sea and promenade.
The bedroom is decorated with sympathetic style to the art deco era and very comfortable although the wardrobe could be bigger (although I did take a lot).
I have recommended this to friends and will come again to stay in this or the above apartment.
