The Chapel offers comfortable accommodation and furnishings with original chapel character including stained glass windows, beams, chapel nooks and pulpit in main bedroom. Stunning views over the breathtaking scenery that is the Pembrokeshire coast. 5-10 minutes walk down a national trust path directly from the property leads to a secluded beach, or indeed to join up with the National Park paths which follow the entire Pembrokeshire coast.
Within 3 min drive are further beaches, including the famous Newgale Sands, shops, pubs and restaurants. Bus stop plus phone box opposite chapel. We are just a few minutes drive from the beautiful city of St David's, the smallest and most picturesque city in the UK. Approx 10 minutes away is the shopping town of Haverfordwest where there are large superstores plus a quaint shopping centre with traditional Welsh crafts sold and farmers markets held weekly.

The Pembrokeshire region
Just to list a few of our favourite activities, whale and dolphin watching, boat trips, surfing, lazing on the beach, horse riding (on trails or on the beach), hiking the stunningly scenic coastal path, shopping, quad-bike racing, theme parks (Folly farm is our children’s favourite), waterskiing, scuba-diving, jet-skiing, 4x4 trails, kayaking, coasteering (has to be tried!), visiting local farms, local vineyards, cinemas, spas, mircolighting, swimming, fishing, golf, eating and drinking the best local cuisine plus of course just lazing in the garden with a good book has to get a mention as well. Virtually anything you can think of that you would like to occupy your holidays can be organised here in Pembrokeshire.
To recommend a couple of really great things that we enjoyed recently when we were at the Chapel . The beach that you access from across the road at the Chapel is stunning and at low tide it feeds into the beautiful newgale sands (there is a tide time table in the coast to coast magazine in the house) it only takes 10-15mins to walk down with the pushchair and suits all tastes as there is beach, stones and rock pools.
We had some fantastic lunches - to recommend a couple of restaurants 35 in Solva is lovely and the harbour and shops are worth a wander. The Bench in St Davids is delicious - and again St Davids is great to explore. There is a pufin bus if you don't want to drive that runs all along the coast and stops near the Chapel. Porthgain is another favourite of ours - the Sloop inn is great for lunch and the Shed menu looks great.

"Not as nice as it looks!"
First the good news, the owner was very nice and responded immediately to our problem of not having heat upon arrival and she was a pleasure to work with while making the booking. On the darker side, Chapel House is definitely not as nice and warm & cozy as the pictures suggest. The exterior is not in good shape and landscaping is non-existent. There is a view of the ocean but it's about 1/4 mile away and it can only be viewed from two front windows rendering the view of little value. Chapel House is located directly on a fairly busy road which means a steady stream of traffic noise. The 1st floor is dark and not well furnished with a couple piles of kids toys and other miscellany making it feel untidy. But the 2nd floor front bedroom is nice and bright and is where we spent a good deal of time. The only shower does not work properly so I had to take baths which I don't enjoy. The problem with the shower is that the water is electrically heated just before it exits the shower head. The heating unit cannot keep up with the water as it exits so the water temperature fluctuates between very cold and very hot so if you're human and have feelings it's impossible to take a shower. The heating unit in the fireplace did not work and while the oven worked it was not possible to set the temperature.
I was very surprised to read the review - the shower is new in the downstairs bathroom and has always provided a hot shower - I wonder if the guests did not switch on the power shower - there is a cord that controls that and as it is a power shower it always provides plenty of hot water. The fireplace has a gas stove with clear instructions to work and again has not caused any problems and the oven like all ovens has 2 heat control buttons for the two ovens and again hasn't caused any problems if the guests had called me or my cleaning team I could have talked them through the instructions and was unaware of any issues until reading this as they never contacted me. I have a 24 hour service if there is a problem and will always do my best to resolve any issue that the guests may have.

"Perfect Escape for Holiday with friends and kids"
I rented Chapel House for a girly get away with our 4 children (age 4-7). It was November and blowing a gale but the stunning beach (5 mins walk away) stayed really sheltered and we spent our days in the rockpools (using the nets and beach toys from the house) and on the sandy parts of the beach. It literally had something for everyone! Better still it's a little cove which is only accessible from the road by the Chapel when the tide is in and was deserted apart from us! Like having a private beach! Chapel House is like nothing I have ever experienced before. Where else can you say that you have stayed in a church?! The views were spectacular, straight down the valley to the sea. The kids all slept in the bunk bed room which they loved and thanks to the sea air and blackout blinds, stayed asleep until 8am - unheard of!) I'm desperate to go back now with my husband so he can experience it. The master bedroom is sooo romantic. The highest eved ceilings with a window seat looking out over the valley. Just stunning. I have read the previous review saying it was dark and tired in the house, I disagree. Firstly, it's a church - so it's going to be dark in places but when you have the fire lit and candles lit, that just adds to the beauty and coziness of the house. The house went above anything we could have hoped for, boxes for toys for the children to play with, DVD's for adults and kids to watch, board games, loads of helpful info on where to eat and what to do. My little boy even went to the barbers nextdoor but one and had an amazing haircut! The lady who we booked through couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and answered all our questions (and knowing we were going with 4 young kids, there were loads!). I hear that she also owns the property nextdoor so we are thinking of booking both next year to take a large group of friends and kids. A perfect escape and highly recommended.
