About this location
The Cornwall region
Cornwall needs very little introduction. The combination of being relatively so far south, plus the influence of the Gulf Stream on the long expanse of Cornish coast, makes this a very mild place, encouraging unusual tree and plant life. Cornwall is also full of history. From King Arthur's castle on the north coast to the tin mines that spread across the county, there are centuries of history to enjoy. The world famous Eden Project brings you right up to date and there are endless wonderful experiences to be found and enjoyed during your holiday.
With nearly 476 kilometers of coastline, Cornwall's beaches are rated among the best in the world. Just a few minutes from Penpol View is the world famous Fistral beach and Towan, Great Western, Lusty Glaze, Crantock, Tolcarne, Porth, Little Fistral beaches aren't bad either !!
Based here at Pentire, there are plenty of places to visit. Right on your doorstep is Fistral Beach, the world renowned surfing beach, Newquay town and the remaining 6 beaches and to the other side of Pentire headland is the Gannel Estuary and Crantock beach. Other local attractions are Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium, Lighthouse Cinema and for the energetic there are tennis courts, golf, coasteering, Go Karts, paintballing and riding. Not to mention surfing, bodyboarding, waveskiing, paddlesurfing or take to the air with kitesurfing and kitebuggying
For dining there are many high quality venues in Newquay, the Lewinnick Lodge ( dog friendly ) with breathtaking views of Fistral beach and the coastline towards Padstow, just a short walk along Pentire headland from your accommodation, or perhaps try Silks Bistro or the C Bar overlooking Fistral beach .A little further afield is Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay, or Rick Stein's Seafood restaurtant at Padstow. Whatever your choice, you will find it here.
