Home description
A charming and comfortable 18th Century cottage with solid oak beams and real fire. Ideal for couples or families alike. An ideal base for visiting Ullswater and all local attractions in the Lake District. Including Rheged Discovery Centre, Pooley Bridge and Keswick or the Eden Valley and Scottish Borders. The cottage has a small garden at the front and private back garden, set in the picturesque village of Newton Reigny, two miles from Penrith, within easy reach of the M6. A few minutes walk from the cottage is the local pub ‘The Sun Inn’ which offers good food and a garden where you can relax by the river.
The cottage consists of porch, living / dining room, double bedroom and one smaller bedroom with two single bunk beds. There is also a sofa bed in the living room. Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/freezer, Washer/Dryer, Colour TV, DVD, TV/Video, Play station for the children. Duvets, Linen, Electric Blankets and Towels are provided. Heating and Electricity included in price.

The Cumbria/Lake District
The Lake District is an area of mountains and lakes in the north west of England. It is the largest national park in the United Kingdom. Explore the area's spectacularly positioned lakes and beautiful scenery. Ullswater is a short drive away. It is the second largest lake in the Lake District at 7.5 miles long and it offers a variety of water based activities from canoeing,sailing and windsurfing to a leisure cruise on one of its famous steamers. Many walks start in the Ullswater valley from treks to low level strolls along the shoreline. In the nearby village of Greystoke is an open air swimming pool, an actvity centre with quad bikes, archery, fishing shooting and falconry.

How to get there
From the North Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 41 and take the third exit from the roundabout (Wigton B5305). Take the first turning left (Catterlen) follow the road through the village to the ‘T’ junction. Turn left and follow the road to Newton Reigny. At the ‘T’ junction turn left and proceed up the hill through the village to the point where the road turns sharp left. The cottage is situated on the right.
From the South Leave the M6 at junction 40 and take the third exit from the roundabout (Penrith). Stay in the left lane and turn left at the next roundabout. Follow the road to the ‘T’ junction and turn left (B5288 Greystoke). Turn right immediately after crossing the motorway and follow the road to Newton Reigny (approx 2 miles). Upon entering the village the road narrows between two buildings and turns right. The cottage is directly on the left at the sharp bend.
From the East or West Follow the A66 to Junction 40 of the M6 and then proceed as described above under ‘From the South.
