TripAdvisor 2014 WINNER - 5 STAR CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE - Ghyllbank House is a luxury holiday home that includes a number of essential elements that will make you want to revisit time and time again! It is in a great location, with the bustling market town of Penrith only 4 miles to the East and the picturesque town of Keswick is just 13 miles to the West.

The property is close enough to the A66 to provide immediate access to all that the Northern Lakes has to offer. The A66 also opens up various routes to the Central and Southern fells. Ghyllbank House is stylish and comfortable with great interior design. The property is surrounded by a dry stone wall and the river Petteril runs to the rear and side of it. The constant babble of the river provides a wonderful backdrop whilst sitting outside. Every effort has been made to make your stay more comfortable and there is a large selection of books to read, board games to play, Sky TV and Wifi internet access. Children and babies are always welcome and are provided for. There is parking for 6 cars.

Living Rooms:

Large elegantly decorated lounge. Includes 3 comfortable sofa's and an armchair. Stylish furniture which includes a writing desk and chair. Large selection of books, board games and children's toys/puzzles. Sky TV, DVD player and a wonderful open fire.

Other:

Sunny bright garden room with more comfortable seating and an ipod dock providing additional living space and a lovely room looking out onto the garden. There is also a downstairs cloakroom/WC.

Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service:

House fully cleaned and made up prior to arrival. Hotel quality bed linen and towels provided. Toiletries, a welcome hamper and logs for the fire are also included.

Further details outdoors

Enclosed wrap-a-round garden. There is lawn area with shrubs to the front and one side of the property. To the rear of the house there is a further small lawn area and a large patio and smaller circular patio area. A lovely teak dining table with 8 chairs is provided. A charcoal BBQ is available for guests to use and a garden games set. The river Petterill runs directly behind and round to the side of the property. It is a fairly narrow section of the river but it is free flowing and provides a wonderful natural water feature!

Further details

The nearest village is Greystoke. Here you will find a shop, a post office and a fantastic pub called the Boot & Shoe which serves excellent food. Greystoke is on the Coast to Coast cycle route. There is a swimming pool open during the summer months. Penrith is just under a 10 minute drive away and here you will find a wide variety of high street shops, banks and a choice of supermarkets. For example there is a Morrison's, a Sainsbury's and a Booth's as well as specialist food stores selling local produce such as Cranston's. The hand book in the property also provides a lot more information such as the nearest hospital, doctor and dentist should they be needed!

The Lake District

The Lake District is famous for its beautiful mountains and lakes, wonderful walking and breathtaking scenery.

Cumbria, at the very north of England, is amongst its most beautiful regions. The Lake District National Park has long been celebrated for its mirror lakes and craggy peaks. There are also an abundance of pretty villages and towns. The Lake District is heaven for those who love the outdoors, with sailing, rock climbing and hiking and much more on offer. Cumbria has sandy coastlines and interesting towns to visit, including old-fashioned Penrith.

Penrith
