This lovely old converted barn can act as an excellent base for both a romantic retreat and an outdoor adventure holiday. Combining original features with quality interiors and magnificent views over the ten acres of land in which it sits, The Bothy is a quaint and comfortable 2 bedroom property forming part of three holiday cottages situated near the sought after location of Ullswater. Comprising of a lounge with 32” TV, a kitchen/diner and a bedroom with a super king size bed and en-suite bathroom, this property provides a perfect destination for a cosy getaway for two, all situated at ground floor level. The owners of this property offers storage for outdoor sporting equipment such as canoes or bikes and for an extra charge they can also provide livery for horses and kennels for extra dogs, making this cottage an ideal destination for both outdoor enthusiasts and pet owners alike.

The Cumbria/Lake District region

The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery.

The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base.
Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

The Penrith / Watermillock area

Watermillock is a small hamlet located on the Western Edge of Ullswater between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. Perfectly situated for a holiday near the magnificent 9 mile long lake that is Ullswater, this area is ideal for anyone looking for a place to visit that is packed with things to see and do. From walking to cycling, climbing or windsurfing, Ullswater has plenty to offer the outdoor enthusiast and for visitors more keen on admiring shops and scenery, there are a number of attractions laid right at your doorstep. From shops to tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, you will never be short of something to do in this area; ride a steamer on the lake or combine it with many of the surrounding Lake District walks to really make a day out of it.
