About the home

The cottage is warm and welcoming, with an open fire in the lounge. Freesat and Sky TV are available in the property also. The kitchen hosts an electric oven and hob as well as a microwave. There is also a downstairs shower room with a shower, toilet and basin. The bedroom upstairs has a super king size bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. For a younger family, a cot is also available. Well behaved dogs are welcome at the property and linen and fuel is included in the price, as is parking for a car in the drive.

The Cumbria/Lake District region

The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery.
This region has been a favourite all year round holiday destination for years and apart from its natural beauty it's also packed with lots of attractions and activities that cater for every kind of holidaymaker, from family holidays to romantic breaks for couples and from those who are looking for lots of activities and sports to those that prefer more gentle country pursuits.
The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family.
The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base.
Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

The Penrith / Stainton area

This property is a quaint and romantic cottage, built in the 18th Century. With easy access to the M6 and Penrith, it is a wonderful place to stay in the Lake District that provides comfort, retreat, relaxation and ease of access to local towns such as Ullswater or even could be used as a stop-gap between England and Scotland. Located in Stainton, the village has amenities such as local shops stocking local produce, a hotel, a pub and a lovely restaurant. The nearest rail station is Penrith, which has half-hourly trains up and down the country via the West Coast Mainline.
