Just outside the lovely, historical village of Farindola and the fabulous Parco Nazionale di Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga you find this attractive holiday home. From the house there are astonishing views to the mountains and surrounding.
It's a typical Italian home, with thick walls to prevent the home getting to hot in summer and to cold in winter.
There is a spacious roof terrace with an umbrella, table and chairs, sunbeds and a BBQ.
From the terrace, the garden and all the rooms there is a fabulous view to the mountains, the village and the surrounding.
Around the house you find a terraced garden with fruit and nuts trees. Of course you are free to pick the fruits and the nuts.
On ca 200 meters, you find a lovely public swimming pool with sunbeds.
Down at the river you find some pick nick tables and you can take a bath in the river.
Farindola is a lovely village. There are several nice bars and restaurants. In summer there are many festivals where you can enjoy music, local food, like the famous arrosticini and drinks.
Also there is a lot to discover in the surroundings, like the unspoilt nature of the national park, the lovely historical villages in the neighbourhood like Penne, Loreto Aprutino, Collecorvino.
Pescara city offers lots of nice shops, a lovely boulevard with lots of palm trees and nice beach restaurants and bars, a great marina and of course the airport, train and bus station. Public transport is very good. The bus will hold near the house when asked.
Closer you find the excellent sandy beaches Silvimarina and Pineto. Every year they get the blue flag for having very clean seawater and beaches.
Going a little higher in the mountains you find the so called 'Little Tibet' and amazing place where you can take an endless walk, take a break at one of the nice small restaurants or have a picknick.

The Marche/Abruzzo region
Abruzzo is in Central Italy, on the Adriatic coast and is recognised as the greenest region of Europe. It has been given this title thanks to its high mountains, undulating hills and wonderful nature. It has 3 National Parks, 2 Regional parks and about 20 nature reserves created to protect the fauna and flora of this wild region.
In Abruzzo you can experience breath-taking scenery that renews the body and soul. Beautiful rivers and lakes, snow capped mountains, verdant hills and a sparkling azure sea. The fertile land provides all sort of fruits and vegetables, excellent wines and some of the best olive oil in the world. The villages seem to have stopped time and the people still have time for each other. You can enjoy swimming, fishing and sailing in blue-green waters. Skiing in the Winter and long lazy sunny days on the miles of sandy beaches in the summer. Whatever you want you can find it in Abruzzo.
Every season is the right for a visit to Abruzzo. Winters for skiing, springs for walking and sight-seeing, summers for enjoying the beach or the mountains and autumn for admiring the changing colours of the landscape while picking olives and grapes.

Everybody! There really is something for everybody in Abruzzo. There is warm weather, relaxing countryside, safe, sandy beaches with low water that are ideal for children. In summer the coastal towns offer a vibrant mix of restaurants, pubs, wine bars, and discos while inland the hill towns offer a shady tranquil retreat from the summer sun. The food and wines are delicious and eating out doesn't cost a fortune! Sporty people can enjoy skiing in the morning and swimming in the sea in the afternoon, or go off hiking, climbing or horse-riding. For those who prefer art and culture the Abruzzo is full of museums, theatres, historic churches and archaeological sites to visit.
Farindola lies beautifully on top of a hill. It's a historical village with lots of old houses. There are nice bars and restaurants. Also there is a bank, a post office and shops.
The historical city of Penne is worth a visit and is about 15 minutes drive. There you find everything you need. Between Penne and Farindola you find Lago di Penne, a lovely lake in protected area. The lake provides the area with water.
Going up you find half way the mountains the lovely Rigopiano. Here you find lovely places to pick nick. Going further up you find a large plateau with small restaurants where you often can buy meat to grill it yourself on the BBQ outside, together with the Italians.
There are lots of nice historical villages in the neighbourhood like Loreto Aprutino, Collecorvino, Castiglione Messer Raimondo etc.
Also you can take a swim in the lovely Adriatic Sea and enjoy an excellent fish lunch at the beach. It will take about 40 minutes drive on quiet roads through lovely nature. At the coast it's still possible to park also in summer.
For excellent shopping you go to Pescara. There you find all luxury brands and a lot of choice.
Restaurants you find everywhere. Just go to places where are also Italians and you will certainly have a good meal.
In a bar you often can have breakfast. A cappuccino or espresso with a cornetto or panino will make a good start of your day.
