The outside Loggia is a great place to eat or relax on our comfortable garden furniture and the upstairs balcony gives extensive views across the mountains. Try your hand at making pizzas in our restored pizza oven or BBQ overlooking the beautiful landscape. A get away from it all holiday for those prepared to try their hand at the italian language and explore this stunning and uncommercial part of Italy.

The Marche / Abruzzo / Abruzzo region

With a mountain back drop, you can expect many changing views from snow to mist and stunning blue skys. The beaches to the north and south of Pescara have long sandy stretches with many having restaurants with private beach access. From our Farmhouse, the beaches are approximately 40 minutes drive and the mountains accessible within 20 minutes.

Penne, Abruzzo area

The historic town of Penne is a medieval walled town with plenty of history detailed in the stunning museum located within the town walls. Markets abound in the area and Penne market (on Saturdays) is always bustling. A speciality Porcetta (pork in a role) is a favourite treat whilst browing the market for bargains. Abruzzo has many Sagra (festivals) during July and August with any excuse for a firework display (especially at New Year when fireworks resinate around the mountain villages).

How to get there

Daily flights from Stansted to Pescara with Ryanair. House located 45 minutes from Pescara Airport. Alternatives are flights to Rome with an easy 2.20min drive taking in the views of Abruzzo.

Further details indoors:
Two upstairs bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with plenty of storage and flexible sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom can comfortably accommodate a family of four with room to move! The upstairs bathroom has both bath and shower (and hand held shower) plus bidet. The studio/bedroom downstairs has a sofa bed which converts to two single beds or can become one double and there is a downstairs shower room. The large kitchen/diner leads out onto the patio and the cosy living room has an open fireplace. There is an indoor open plan staircase and an outside staircase leading to the balcony of the master bedroom.

The large secluded garden offers mountain views and has a flat area for play and relaxation. There is also a wooded area for exploring. Fruit and olive trees are plentiful. There is an extensive parking area.

Our housekeeper is Italian but speaks excellent English and can help with any queries during your stay. Shops, bars, restaurants and Penne hospital are all within 5/10 minutes drive from the house.

Conditions

A 25% deposit is payable on booking and the remainder 8 weeks prior to the letting. Lettings are for a period of 7 days minimum and changeover days are flexible. A refundable security deposit of £150 (£300 for the months October to April to cover gas charges) will be payable with final payment. This will be returned to you (under the terms and conditions of the rental contract) within 7/10 days of your return.

Payment is preferred in £sterling. A 25% deposit is required to secure booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the holiday. A refundable security deposit will be required for breakages. During the winter months (1st October to 30th April a small charge to cover gas will apply.
