This delightful mid-18th century cottage offers an open fireplace, a games room and an ideal setting for a farm holiday in southern Snowdonia. Ciperdy also enjoys a great location near the sea and mountains, with plenty of attractions on the doorstep. These include a coastal path that can be joined 400yds away, great local restaurants, a beautiful sandy beach in Aberdyfi, the historical village of Pennal and the ancient capital of Wales at Machynlleth. Not to mention the mountain walks, the Centre for Alternative Technology and much more.
The welcoming lounge / dining room has an open fireplace and beamed ceiling providing a warm, cosy atmosphere. TV and DVD provided, along with antique furniture.
The well equipped fitted kitchen includes an electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave and is characterised by the old brick bread oven discovered while renovating.
Large ground floor bathroom with a full size bath, a separate double shower unit, toilet and sink.
The stairs lead directly to a spacious double bedroom with a dressing table and bedside tables with lamps. There is also a safety gate at the top of the stairs and a door at the bottom of the stairs.
Through this double room you have access to a second, cosy twin bedroom with a wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps. Both rooms also have beamed sloping ceilings.
Traditional stable doors from the kitchen lead to a small, enclosed patio area with garden furniture.
A converted outbuilding on the farm yard also serves as a laundry and games room for the 3 holiday cottages on site. The games room includes a pool table and dart board.
There will also be opportunities to see the farm animals on the farm yard and in the fields around you.
On your arrival you will be greeted with a tea tray and a homemade cake.

The North Wales region
Located down a quiet lane, half a mile from the main road, Ciperdy is situated on a farm in southern Snowdonia where you are guaranteed a warm Welsh welcome. The cottage is perfect for a farm holiday, with opportunities to see the farm animals from the doorstep – on the farm yard and in the fields around you. There is also a games room with a pool table and dart board in the shared games room next door.
The historical village of Pennal is just 1.5 miles away and offers a small village shop, a lovely restaurant / bar and Plas Talgarth's health and leisure complex. Here you can treat yourself to a massage and a range of beauty treatments, enjoy the heated indoor and outdoor pools or even a session in the gym.
The cottage is also located between Aberdyfi (6 miles) and Machynlleth (5 miles) and they both have that something special to offer. Aberdyfi is located in a beautiful spot where the mountains meet the sea and its sandy beach stretches for 4 miles, all the way to Tywyn. Amongst its amenities is an 18 hole golf course, beautiful walks, watersports, lovely cafes and shops and a number of restaurants, with Pharoah's Cellar Bistro and Sea Breese both recommended.
A short journey in the other direction brings you to Machynlleth, the Ancient Capital of Wales where the first Welsh parliament still stands today. Machynlleth also hosts the oldest street market in Britain every Wednesday and has many other amenities including mountain bike tracks, a leisure centre and a supermarket. Recommended restaurants in Machynlleth include Bistro Twenty One and the Wynnstay.
Other nearby attractions include the world famous Centre for Alternative Technology, Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth. Talyllyn steam railway offers a great day out and it also provides access to a number of scenic walks. Ynys Las RSBP Nature reserve is another popular attraction whilst the walk up Cadair Idris is well worth the effort with some very rewarding views from its peaks.
Aberdyfi Beach - a long and beautiful sandy beach. 6 miles
Wales Coast Path – this can be joined 0.2 miles from the cottage.
Dyfi Valley Way follows the River Dyfi from the estuary in Aberdyfi to the source at the summit of Aran Fawddwy and back down along the south side of the river via Machynlleth and down to Borth. Maps and guides can be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre in Aberdyfi. Join the path from your doorstep in Cwrt. 0.2 miles
Bearded Lake Walk - This 10 mile walk will take you up into the hills behind Aberdyfi to Bearded Lake. 6 miles from the house.
Cadair Idris (mountain walk) – 3 main routes starting from Minffordd (13 miles), Llanfihangel-y-Pennant (18.5 miles) and Dolgellau (20 miles).

Dyfi Mountain Biking – A range of mountain biking tracks, all starting from Machynlleth. 5 miles

River Dyfi offers excellent fishing and is famous for its brown trout, salmon and sea trout. 0.5 miles
Surrounded by sea, rivers and lakes, this is one of the best all round angling locations available. Try your hand at some shore fishing in Aberdyfi (6 miles) and Tywyn (10 miles) or lake fishing at Tal-y-llyn (13.5 miles).
Watersports in Aberdyfi includes sailing, sail boarding, rowing, canoeing, fishing and boat trips. 6 miles
