Ty Fferm is set within its own enclosed garden on a working farm in southern Snowdonia. It enjoys a lovely location with everything you need on the doorstep, from a games room on site to a coastal path that can be joined 400yds away, and from a sandy beach to a village pub, mountain walks and the ancient capital of Wales at Machynlleth. The nearest beach is just 6 miles away in Aberdyfi, along with some lovely cafes, ice cream parlours and small, independent shops.

Ground Floor:

Spacious, country style kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave and a large dining table.

The lounge has an open fireplace, TV and DVD player. Large windows with views over the garden and a French window opening out onto the patio.

Ground floor single bedroom furnished with a bedside cabinet, wardrobe and chest of drawers. A lovely, light room with garden views.


Large double room with built in wardrobe and lovely views towards the estuary.

Large twin room with built in wardrobe and lovely views over the farm.

Smaller, single bedroom with bed side table and wardrobe.

A converted outbuilding on the farm yard also serves as a laundry and games room for the 3 holiday cottages on site. The games room includes a pool table and a dart table.

The North Wales region

Ty Fferm is situated on a farm in southern Snowdonia where you are guaranteed a warm Welsh welcome. Located down a quiet lane, half a mile from the main road, you can relax in the privacy of your enclosed garden or enjoy a few games of pool or darts in the shared games room on site. As a working family farm, there will also be opportunities to see the farm animals and to enjoy the beautiful countryside around you.

There's a small village shop and a lovely restaurant / bar 1.5 miles away in the historical village of Pennal. You can also treat yourself to a massage, a range of beauty treatments or enjoy the heated indoor and outdoor pools at Plas Talgarth's health and leisure complex in Pennal.

Either side of your cottage, Aberdyfi (6 miles) and Machynlleth (5 miles) both have that something special to offer. Aberdyfi is located in a beautiful spot where the mountains meet the sea and its sandy beach stretches for 4 miles, all the way to Tywyn. Amongst its amenities is an 18 hole golf course, beautiful walks, watersports, lovely cafes and shops and a number of restaurants, with Pharoah's Cellar Bistro and Sea Breese both recommended.

A short journey in the other direction brings you to Machynlleth, the Ancient Capital of Wales where the first Welsh parliament still stands today. Machynlleth also hosts the oldest street market in Britain every Wednesday and has many other amenities including mountain bike tracks, a leisure centre and a supermarket. Recommended restaurants in Machynlleth include Bistro Twenty One and the Wynnstay.

Many other attractions are also within a short distance of this self catering Aberdovey cottage, from the world famous Centre for Alternative Technology to Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth. Talyllyn steam railway offers a great day out and it also provides access to a number of scenic walks. Ynys Las RSBP Nature reserve is another popular attraction whilst the walk up Cader Idris is well worth the effort with some very rewarding views from its peaks.



Aberdyfi has a long and beautiful sandy beach. 6 miles


Wales Coast Path – this can be joined 0.2 miles from the cottage.

Dyfi Valley Way follows the River Dyfi from the estuary in Aberdyfi to the source at the summit of Aran Fawddwy and back down along the south side of the river via Machynlleth and down to Borth. Maps and guides can be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre in Aberdyfi. Join the path from your doorstep in Cwrt. 0.2 miles

Bearded Lake Walk - This 10 mile walk will take you up into the hills behind Aberdyfi to Bearded Lake. 6 miles from the house.

Cader Idris (mountain walk) – 3 main routes starting from Minffordd (13 miles), Llanfihangel-y-Pennant (18.5 miles) and Dolgellau (20 miles).

Dyfi Mountain Biking – A range of mountain biking tracks, all starting from Machynlleth. 5 miles

River Dyfi offers excellent fishing and is famous for its brown trout, salmon and sea trout. 0.5 miles

Surrounded by sea, rivers and lakes, this is one of the best all round angling locations available. Try your hand at some shore fishing in Aberdyfi (6 miles) and Tywyn (10 miles) or lake fishing at Tal-y-llyn (13.5 miles).


Watersports in Aberdyfi includes sailing, sail boarding, rowing, canoeing, fishing and boat trips. 6 miles

"Wonderful location and accomdation"
