There is air conditioning/heating in the master bedroom and lounge and security shutters on all the windows and patio doors. There is allocated parking for one car in the secure underground car park which is accessed by a key. The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Costa del Azahar region
Peniscola is situated between Barcelona to the North and Valencia to the South, on the East coast of Spain which is known as the "Orange Blossom Coast". It has excellent transport links by air, road and rail.
Peniscola / Tierra de Irta area
Old town Peniscola boasts gastronomic restaurants, tapas bars and shops within the castle surroundings Walk down narrow streets to discover the lighthouse and churches that date back to the Templers Reign. It boasts a park, overlooking the sea and beach, with birds of prey on show. Climb to the top of the castle to see panoramic views of The Tierra de Irta and Benicarlo. The 8km blue flag beaches with gently shelving sand are amongst the safest in Spain. Walk along the Promenade and stop at the many cafes along the way. Visit the Jardin del Papagayo (Garden of Parrots) Vinaros is close by and renowed for its fish dishes (try the Langostino de Vinaros) and Spanish hospitality. Travel north to the Ebro Delta famous for its Wildlife and many bird species.
For the young at heart, and a fantastic day out, visit the (Warner Bros)Theme Park of Port Aventura which is an hours drive away. Barcelona and Valencia can be visited by coach trips or train from Peniscola /Benicarlo station. Benicassam hosts music festivals in the summer and has a large aquapark. Visit the old Roman town of Morella 70km inland and enjoy the cheese and various other local produce.
A visit to Valencia is a must to see the Arts and Sience museum set within the dry riverbed which features Europes largest underwater aquarium where you have the opportunity to walk between sharks and fish. A tourist bus with bilingual commentary takes you around the city. Last but not least don't miss the many festivals that take place in Peniscola throughout the year. A BUS SERVICE RUNS BETWEEN MID JUNE AND THE END OF SEPTEMBER EVERY HOUR FROM A LOCAL BUS STOP TO PENISCOLA COST =1 EURO (Between 9.30am-22.30pm) FIVE MINS WALK FROM APARTMENT
