Peniscola / Monte Pichells area

Peniscola is in the Costa Azahar -the orange blossom coast .It is an ideal location for couples or families seeking a relaxing or an adventurous holiday.The coastline offers quiet coves or action packed blue flag beaches.The constant mild climate of this area makes for an ideal all year holiday destination.

The costs for dining out and groceries are excellent and many people recommend the menu of the day on offer in each restaurant -where a 3 course meal with a drink,/bottle of wine , water and coffee is from 8 euros per person.

There is a 12km.promenade along the seafront with cycle/walkway to Benicarlo and Vinaros.both fabulous places to visit ...shopping centres,boutiques,cinemas,marina and discos plus the traditional tapas bars, live music !Traditional local music and dancing is always available somewhere in Peniscola and do not miss the firework display from the old castle grounds every Saturday night...at least!

The AWARD WINNING beaches offer watersports, children's activities,parasols,sunloungers as well as scenic boat trips. Peniscola has a working fishing -harbour and you can hire a boat to go fishing or even buy fish fresh off the boat when they return from their afternoons fishing trIp.

The Peniscola is a 10 minutes walk away from the apartment where 7km of blue flag sandy beaches and a wide variety of watersports can be found along with a great selection of cafes and bars and restaurants. The old part of Peniscola is known as the" City in the sea ..."steeped in history ,fabulous viewing points,cobbled pedestrian only streets and lined with restaurants.bars and unique shops to explore by day or night..

The shingle coves 5 mins walk are great for fishing,sunbathing or snorkelling and the Serra dirta has a spectacular coastline popular for walkers and cyclists or swimming in the crystal clear sea. The tourist board information is located in the centre of Peniscola and the helpful staff who also speak English will give you additional guidance to ensure you enjoy your stay in Spain. A hourly bus service to Peniscola cost 1 euro April -October


How to get there

The main airports are Reus or Valencia both about an hour away .The new Castellon airport is due to open 2010 will only be 25 mins.

They are served by all the major and budget airlines e.g Easyjet, Bmi, Ryanair, Thomsonfly,Monarch etc from all U.K.airports

Airport / train /bus /ferry transfer service can be arranged for you offering a luxury 7 seater vehicle.and a door to door service

Car hire is available from the airports or booked in advance e.g Economycarhire, Hertz, Europecar. etc.. or can be hired from Peniscola

There is an excellent bus and train service from the airports to Benicarlo and then a 10 minute taxi ride to the apartment.
