Home description

The house which has been my home for the past 2 years, is located just a couple of minutes walk from the sandy coves that make up the area to the south of Peniscola. The small urbanisation has a large community pool (with Children's pool) that is set about 25 metres from the sea. The house looks onto the Sierra de Irta National Park and is 1.5Km from Peniscola.
The ancient town of Peniscola built beneath the historic Templar Castle is set on a rocky headland set in the sea.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Costa del Azahar region

Orange and Olive groves abound. Long stretches of sandy beach and coastal paths for walking to sheltered coves in unspoilt National Park areas. Mild winters and guaranteed sunshine for most of the year, with fantastic Summers.
14th Century Castle, which was home to Pope Benedict 13, known as Papa Luna is on a rocky outcrop in the sea at Peniscola.
The River Ebro, famous for itself giant Catfish flows out to the sea at Tortossa.
Salou & the Port Adventura (Warner Bros) adventure park is 1 hour away by car, or can be reached from Benecarlo by train.

Peniscola / Residencial Edison area

Peniscola is dominated by the Castle which is on a rocky spit of land jutting out to sea. It featured in the film" El Cid" with Charlton Heston. The old town built within the Castle walls features winding alleyways with many Shops, Bars and Restaurants. There is a Ten pin Bowling Alley just outside Benecarlo, which also has a large Sports Centre. The impressive town of Morella is approx 50Km inland and has a long Roman Aquaduct. The 6Km sandy beach between Peniscola and Benecarlo is a "Blue Flag" beach, and with its gently shelving sands is ideal for Children. Valencia and Tarragona are just over an hours drive away, whilst Barcelona is 2 hours away. Peniscola stages a Comedy Film Festival in early Summer.

How to get there

Nearest Airports are either Valencia or Reus (sometimes listed as Tarragona, or Barcelona. Both are just over an hours drive away. The main motorway (E15/AP7) goes from either Airports past Peniscola (J43), so driving is very easy. There is also a mainline Train station at Benicarlo (6Km) with fast trains to Valencia or Barcelona. Car hire is recommended to fully appreciate the area. Large master bedroom (King size bed), with En-Suite Bathroom. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds, with a Shower room next door; and Bedroom 3 has a Double bed and Bunk beds which opens out to the Roof Terrace. All rooms have security shutters. The Kitchen is fully equipped.

Further details outdoors:
The house is shaded by pine trees, so keeps cool in the Summer. The terrace at the top of the house is ideal for sunbathing. There is also a terrace that is accessed from the Living room, with Table & chairs for Al Fresco eating. There is an integral Garage, but safe parking is available outside the house. There is a communal garden in front of the house, which is away from roads.

Linen change provided every week. Bath towels provided. Beach towels can be provided for a small charge.

Conditions

A 25% Deposit is required on Confirmation of Booking with the remainder being due 8 weeks prior to the date of occupation. Winter rates available
