Peniscola is in "The orange blossom coast " midway Valencia , Barcelona , perfect for discovering the Real Spain ,Inland and along the coast.
Peniscola Old town "The City in the Sea " is one of the most photographed in Spain due to the stunning Castle & fortress set amongst the whitewash houses ,impressive churches, cobbled streets and fishIng harbour. The Serra D.irta Natural park is an unspoilt paradise for beach lovers or nature ramblers.

The Peniscola / Monte Pichells area

Monte Pichells is in a sought after area on the south side of Peniscola leading to the
Serra d'itra Natural park .
The scenery is breathtaking and the location ideal as it is a tranquil area but only 1.4 kms to Peniscola and All amenities.
In the town centre there are facilities to rent bicycles, quads,motorbikes , car hire .
The sand ,shingle nearby coves at less than a 10 mins. walk are great for fishing,sunbathing or snorkelling and the Serra d,irta has a spectacular coastline popular for walkers ,cyclists or swimming in the crystal clear sea .
There is a promenade along the North beach seafront with cycle/ walkway ,bars ,restaurants,traditional tapas bars.
Both South and North beach offer watersports, children's activities,parasols,sunloungers as well as scenic boat trips.
The Old town is a delight to explore by day and night and the Castle is a must to visit
There are an hourly bus service to Peniscola ...Easter then June to end of September

It is a 2 min. drive,max. 20 mins walk.
The nearest restaurant , bar from Monte pichells is less than a 10 mins. walk away and well recommended by All our guests !
The tourist board information is located in the centre of Peniscola and the helpful staff will give you additional guidance to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Numerous fiestas and celebrations January to December so always a good reason to visit and join in .

“So relaxed we barely had the strength to leave!” We wanted a peaceful break somewhere beautiful where we could stuff our faces with yummy food and boy did we get what we wanted! We went right at the begining of June, before the season really began, so the town was quieter than it would be for most of the summer I imagine, but for us all that meant was our pick of wonderful resturants and never feeling crowded on the beach - pretty good eh?! The apparment itself is simple and nicely presented, located a little out of town in a peaceful complex which appeared to mostly have full time residents rather than lots of other holiday makers. We didn't hire a car, and while that didn't stop us doing what we wanted at all, I would recommend one if you have kids or have greater aspirations than sunabthing or pottering in to town for dinner. It is about a 20 miniute walk to the town along the coast road. There isn't a proper pavement but people drive carefully so you don't feel unsafe, however it isn't lit at night so we mostly got taxi's or lifts from the ever hospitable owners comeing back at night. Highlights included lemon's from Amanda's trees, some of the best seafood (esp the stews) I've ever eaten, the beautiful resturant "Olivers" and watching the fishing boats come back with the days catch. Lowlights, and I have had to struggle to find one, was that very few people spoke English in town. I was surprised, but its seems to be a bit of the coast the brits haven't invaded, there are mostly Spanish visitors there I think. Most resturants had an english menu though, and everyone we met was terribly helpful and patient with our pointing and phrasebook Spanish. “Quite honestly - cannot fault this in any way - great apartment, great views, great resort and great” This apartment is 5 star quality and beautifully kept. The views are terrific - looking out at hills on the front balcony and sea views from the back balcony. The resort is vibrant and busy, but in the right way - it doesn't suffer from English package holidays!.Slightly out of Peniscola, but a great cheap bus service in season. Cheap to eat out at the many cafes. We went at the September Fiesta time and liked it so much we've booked again for Sept. 2011. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to advise and help. We travel there by Eurostar,French sleeper train and Spanish coastal train - a great alternative to flying. Thoroughly recommend this apartment, the owners, and the resort. Response: Hola from Peniscola. Thank you so much for your great review. Had a lovely week away from our desks paddling in the Sea ! Amanda and David have been lovely and helpful . David picked us up from the train station and Amanda gave us fresh Lemons from her trees. We have had some lovely meals,especially the local bar which is wonderful to pop to after a morning at the coves down the road from the apartment.Peniscola has a very friendly feel.

17-24 April We had a very nice week in this comfortable apartment . Peniscola Old Town is full of atmosphere and the view from the Castle is great. We have taken many enjoyable excursions ,Valencia,Morella,Serra d.irta ,Benicassim. Thanks for everything. Peter and Elizabeth from Austria 3/4/2011 We have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay ,the apartment is very attractive and well equipped,lovely new shower room! As we are keen walkers it has been great being on the edge of the Serra national park. Perfect weather for exploring the many walks,admiring the fantastic Spring flowers and the stunning views of the coastline. Rosemary and Graham UK.
