The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
This is a lovely area with plenty of uncrowded beaches nearby. It is also close to a number of monuments which are well worth a visit - please enquire for further details. There are world famous surf spots within walking distance, or just a short drive.
Peniche / Baleal area
Among the local attractions are Óbidos Castle, Alcobaça Monastery and Berlenga Island, a National Park. There are numerous restaurants in which to sample the wonderful local cuisine, as well as plenty of activities including water sports and fishing. Ideal holiday location for relaxing on the beach but close to cities for shopping and night-life.

Lisbon airport less than 100km away.
Lisbon to Peniche following A8 and then IP6.
Plenty of buses connect Lisbon to Peniche. See www.rede-expressos.pt .
We provide free transfers from the Peniche bus station to your accommodation.
Transfer service available for 95 EUR from Lisbon airport.
Recommended car rental in www.interrent.com (be aware that the office is not located in the airport and closes on Sundays).

Guestbook for Maria Apartment
Overall, we have been very happy with Maria Apartment, for obvious reasons. It has a central location, very close to several of the best surf beaches in Europe. The house is clean, in good condition and well maintained by Fernando. During low season, this place is fantastic.
