This newly refurbished apartment in the historical centre of Peniche, offers not only a great view to the to the famous and impressive St. Pedro Church but also to the Marina. Situated a calm street this apartment is only a pace away from the typical Portuguese cafes and restaurants. Down the street you have the Marina where it's possible to admire the typical penichense fishing boats. The beach is only a short walk away and so are all the shops.
Only a stone drop away from Lisbon, Peniche is such a great cultural place with its amazing beaches and relaxed atmosphere that will offer a fantastic holiday experience for both adults and children.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
In the central section of the Portuguese coastline, intense reflections on the water lend their name to this happy destination: Costa de Prata (Silver Coast).
Located between Lisbon and Oporto, with the country's largest motorway (the A1) crossing it in the north-south direction is Central Portugal and its Silver Coast. The mild temperatures and white sandy beaches offer one the choice between practicing water sports and the calm life of the seaside.
As one of the most economically developed regions in the country, Costa de Prata is also home for famous traditional art treasures, such as its porcelain and crystal, as well as its gastronomy, strongly influenced by the sea and counterbalanced by its tasty Bairrada wines and mouth-watering sweets. In the fishing villages or urban historic centres, the kindness of the people is but another asset to add to this bountiful area's vast list of qualities.
Peniche area
The nice small city of Peniche lies in the shelter of a great headland on Portugal's rugged Atlantic coast. Peniche is most famous for its lace-making and numerous fish restaurants, which during the summer serve up some of the tastiest sardines in Portugal.
Along Avenida do Mar (only 2 minutes walk from the apartment), there are a number of nice seafood restaurants that all do grilled fish and seafood. The quality of the fish and seafood is very good and fresh, with a variety of fish being served hot off the grill. Of course, if you are a meat lover, worry not, because Peniche has more than enough restaurants to cater to your taste.
Places to visit:
If you are looking for a holiday where visiting places of interest is a high priority then Peniche won't disappoint you. At the water's edge on the south side of town stands the 16th-century Fortaleza. Used as a prison during the repressive Salazar regime, it now contains a museum of local archaeology and crafts, incorporating former cells, solitary chambers and the visitors' grilles. In Largo 5 de Outubro, the Church of the Misericórdia has 17th-century painted ceiling panels depicting the life of Jesus Christ and patterned “azulejo” glazed tiles from the same period.
3-km walk eastwards lies the breezy Cabo Carvoeiro and the Chapel of Our Lady of Remédios, which contains 18th-century blue and white “azulejo” glazed tiles. Laced with grottoes and coves, the Berlenga Islands are an hour's journey by boat from Peniche. Berlenga Grande, the largest of the group, is a nature reserve with nesting sites for seabirds. It also has a 17th-century fort. If you feel that the above is not enough you can also visit several other churches and museums in and around Peniche.
For Families:
Being blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, Peniche is an ideal holiday destination. The apartment is within a 5 to 7 minute walking distance from the nearest beach and you have a vast choice of other beaches available within a 5 minute drive.
If you are having a swimming pool day, Peniche also has a very attractive water park. Throughout the town you will find several parks where the children can play while you enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
For Active Holiday Makers:
For those seeking to sweat during their holidays there is a wide selection of activities available such as golf, tennis, fishing, hiking, quad riding etc.
Peniche is ideal to practice the various water sports. It is frequent to see the waves invaded by those who love surfing, bodyboarding, longboarding, windsurfing and snorkling. Medao, Supertubos, Baleal, Sao Bernardino, Cova da Alfarroba, Gamboa and Consolacao are great beaches to give freedom to your love for the above sports.
Although the Baleal and Supertubos beaches are much sought after by surfing enthusiasts because it offers the possibility to surf all year long. Some people call the Supertubos beach the European Pipeline. Consolacao Beach is extremely known for its medicinal properties.

Further details indoors: This apartment has just undergone refurbishment and has all the facilities required for a great holiday. With 3 double bedrooms, one of which with en suite, it's possible to accommodate 6 persons. In one of the bedrooms is possible to transform the single bed into a double bed.
The apartment comes with weekly cleaning service. Towels and bed linnen will also be provided.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO SURF EQUIPMENT IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE APARTMENT (The apartment has 2 safe balconies where it is possible to store your surf equipment).
Further details outdoors: There are two balconies both with great views, where it's possible to sitdown and enjoy a quiet evening or a simply have a meal whilst enjoying a great wine.

Just a quick note of thanks - we loved our 2 week holiday in your apartment in Peniche. Was extremely well suited to our needs: right in the centre of Peniche - we watched a couple of weddings from the balcony! Near to the beaches - had a great time surfing on both baleal and Super Tubos beaches, clean, large, well maintained and with good facilities (eg. washing machine and balconys). We would recommend it to our friends, and would certainly return. Thanks again!
