Two Hoots can be found on a leafy lane leading to Freshwater East, a glorious, sandy bay just a mile away where you'll also find a local pub with some of the best coastal views in Pembrokeshire. Medieval Manorbier castle, village & beach are within 2 miles and the award winning Barafundle Beach within 5 miles. It is ideally located within the southern section of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park for surfing, boat trips, fishing, golf or the simple pleasures of relaxing and enjoying the superb countryside. Two Hoots was built in 2005 - a conversion of the former granary of Hodgeston Hall - the adjacent Grade II listed building. Great care has been taken to empathise with its surroundings - the exterior being faced with lovely old, local limestone whilst internally, there is liberal use of exposed timber. There are rural views to front & rear and the children will love to watch the horses in the surrounding fields.
FREE unlimited WiFi is available at this spacious cottage sleeping a maximum of 7 plus baby in a cot. There are three bedrooms and the house is toddler friendly - with a walled garden to keep them safe. Upstairs: a large family bedroom with double & single bed (can be used as a twin, double or family room), another double-bedded room, and a bathroom. Downstairs: double-bedded room with an en-suite shower room (large, 1200mm long shower) - ideal for the elderly or for friends. The generously sized kitchen/diner (20' x 12') is fully fitted with beech units & every modern appliance including dishwasher. There is a large farmhouse-type table & a highchair. The spacious lounge(18' x 16') has modern, 3-seater sofas, stereo with CDs and tapes, new LCD T.V. with Freeview, a selection of DVDs and bookcase with novels, maps and local tourist information.
The grounds are completely flat and entrances have one standard step. There is access for a wheelchair through the patio doors at the rear. The lounge, kitchen and downstairs bedroom are wheelchair accessible but the en-suite shower room is not. The property is, therefore, only suitable for wheelchair users who have some mobility.

The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire is famed for being the only coastal National Park in Britain. It has spectacular scenery and the weather is generally mild in this western-most peninsular of the UK. There's plenty to do in this fascinating County - water sports from nearby Freshwater East Bay, boat trips to the monastery island of Caldey, fishing at Bosherston Lily Ponds, not to mention riding and golf - all within 5 miles. The award winning theme park of Oakwood, Folly Farm and Heatherton are also within 10 miles. Clues to Pembrokeshire's Norman history and ancient past are all around with the magnificent castles of Pembroke, Manorbier and Carew amongst the best in Wales and well worth a visit.
Both historic Pembroke and colourful Tenby with its Georgian houses, picturesque harbour and town beaches are thriving holiday centres.
From the cottage a narrow lane winds its way for about a mile to the coastal footpath, with spectacular views of long sandy beaches, small coves and the islands of Caldey and Lundy in the distance. In Spring the cliffs provide a hideaway for nesting birds and in late Summer the Atlantic Grey Seal can sometimes be glimpsed basking on rocks with her pup.
The easily accessible beach at Freshwater East with its golden sand and superb walks is just a mile or so, or why not catch the coastal cruiser bus to the award winning, idyllic Barafundle Bay just 5 miles away? Cycling is also a pleasure, there being traffic free lanes throughout the vicinity of the cottage. There are 6 excellent pubs/ restaurants within 1 mile, all offering value for money and welcoming children. The nearest, The Freshwater Inn, with a magnificent view overlooking the sea, can be reached by the 'Access Only' lane outside the cottage. The medieval village of Lamphey also has a shop, bakery, post office/store & railway station - not to mention a ruined palace . At Pembroke you'll find the magnificent Pembroke Castle, birthplace of Henry VII and home to live theatre and medieval events in the summer. Hodgeston itself boasts a 13th Century church with a striking Norman embattled tower. There is a bus service to Pembroke/Tenby & Haverfordwest. The nearest supermarket is at Lamphey or why not have your groceries delivered from Tesco?

"Amazing cottage and location"
We had very definite needs when looking for a cottage to rent. With three adult couples in our group we needed not only three double rooms, but three double rooms with double beds, and more than one bathroom. Two Hoots fitted the bill perfectly, there was plenty of room for everyone and never once did we feel cramped or on top of each other. The kitchen is a great size and wonderfully equipped (even my son, the chef, was thrilled with it), and none of this nonesense of 'if it accomodates 6 then you have 6 plates, 6 mugs etc), the range of crockery, glassware etc was fantastic. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained.
Very nicely situated between Pembroke and Tenby and some dellghtful walks, pubs etc nearby.
We heartily recommend this cottage to everyone and hope to be able to return ourselves.
Thank you so much for your 5* review. We are delighted that Two Hoots lived up to your expectations and you had a lovely holiday. Hope you can visit again soon. Best wishes, Eileen.

"The cottage was just as nice the second time around if not better"
This was our second visit to this beautiful cosy cottage, with the addition of a baby this time who was more than adequately provided for by the owners. We didn't have brilliant weather this time but there is plenty to do around the area, with some beautiful beaches & walks. Also it is so nice to go back to the well appointed cottage after a cold brisk walk, the owners provide you with everything you could possibly want to make your stay comfortable. I almost want to keep it our little secret & not publicise it to the world, but also want to sing the praises of Eileen & her family for making our New Years break with our family so enjoyable.
Thankyou again Eileen & I highly recommend your cottage (grudgingly) to everyone!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments - they almost brought a tear to my eye! We really do try to make our guests' stay as memorable as possible and our reward is if they become more like friends. Looking forward to you returning to Two Hoots soon. Best wishes, Eileen.

"A fabulous comfortable stay, a real home from home, we'll definitely be back."
Lovely cottage in a quiet peaceful spot. The children loved their rooms and had plenty of space to play. A huge great kitchen which was close to the living room so we could keep an eye on the children. Great washing and drying facilities which is essential with 3 children! We've stayed in quite a few holiday cottages over the years but this was by far the best one we've stayed in and we'll be back.
Thank you so much for the 5 star rating and the lovely comments. We're really pleased that you had an excellent holiday and want to return to Two Hoots. Best wishes, Eileen.

"A lovely house, with ample space, in a good location."
The whole booking experience was very straight forward, the property owner was very thorough and quick to respond to any queries that we had.
The property was in very good condition and catered perfectly for our needs; there was ample space for our party of 4 adults and 1 child, the property was well equipped for our stay and it was great to have off-road parking for more than one vehicle.
The house is situated in a lovely hamlet, on a quiet lane with good access to local amenities of which the owners have provided a concise list and their locations. A great beach is less than 5 minutes drive, there are many opportunities for good walks nearby and the property is just a short drive away from the nearby towns of Tenby and Pembroke, which are both worth a visit. Further afield is the beautiful National Botanic Garden of Wales. For the children, Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park are recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Pembrokeshire and the property was ideal for our needs and exactly what we were hoping for.
It really is lovely to have such positive feedback. Thank you very much for giving us 5 out of 5. You obviously had a wonderful holiday! Best wishes, Eileen.

"Great cottage with all that's needed for a relaxing holiday."
Lovely peaceful rural Hamlet location ideally situated for access to South Pembrokeshire coast. Our second holiday in this cottage.
Thank you so much for rating Two Hoots excellent. I'm really pleased that your second time at Two Hoots with your friends was as good as your first. We look forward to you holidaying with us again in the future. Best wishes, Eileen.

"Quality accommodation in a quiet rural location"
My wife and I can thoroughly recommend"Two Hoots" holiday accommodation. There is a very comfortable lounge and a large dining kitchen fully equipped. All three bedrooms are a good size also.
Unfortunately the weather was unseasonably cold wet and windy. We arrived in heavy rain to discover that the heating did not work although there was plenty of hot water on demand. Eileen arranged for it to be fixed at the first opportunity on Monday which we were very grateful for as the weather unfortunately did not improve all week.
The cottage is ideally situated for a quiet holiday just relaxing, or for walkers, as a 20 minute walk down a traffic free lane takes you to the pembrokshire coastal path.
There are supermarkets nearby in Pembroke and serveral pubs and restaurants within a short drive.
If we return to this area we would not hesitate in staying at "Two Hoots" again.
Thank you very much for your comments confirming the quality of accommodation offered at Two Hoots. I'm only sorry that the present Indian summer arrived too late for you! Best wishes, Eileen.

"Would stay here again and recommend to family and friends"
The cottage was excellant in all areas as rated above, the only one criticism that lost 1 mark on cleanliness was that there were lots of spiders and cobwebs. These were not only in corners and windows but between items of furniture and in lampshades, easily dealt with by a feather duster. One guest even had a large spider inside the duvet cover!! What fun!! Lovely cottage, great location and a beautiful area to holiday in, would stay again and recommend to family and friends.
So glad you enjoyed your holiday and found the cottage excellent and will return again. Rest assured the feather duster has already been wielded and our lampshades are now cobweb free!
