The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire's beaches are the best in Wales – sandy, safe and relatively uncrowded, ranging from traditional seaside resorts to hidden coves well off the beaten track. And the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park protects this spectacular south-west Wales coastline, providing many areas of outstanding beauty inland.
This is a place for family holidays involving all sorts of watersports, from sailing, surfing and windsurfing to kayaking and coasteering, and there are also boat-trips to islands where you might see puffins in summer or migrating seabirds in spring and autumn. You'll probably see dolphins, seals and even whales, too.
History has left its mark in the form of majestic castles, quirky museums and some of the best Neolithic monuments in Britain. And this is heaven for walkers, with the long-distance Pembrokeshire Coastal Path as well as public footpaths criss-crossing the countryside. Bike-riding families can choose from several off-road routes, or more experienced cyclists can try the Celtic Cycle Trail that starts at Fishguard and crosses the county on its way to Swansea.
Freshwater East is an ideal setting for the holiday homes of Freshwater Bay Holiday Village, located in the only Coastal National Park in Great Britain. All the chalets are just a few hundred metres from the beach. Perfect for families, couples, bird watchers, walkers and extreme sport lovers. Freshwater Bay has it all, with a restaurant/bar, shop and games room at 'The Longhouse' situated at the front of the village. (The Longhouse, shop and games room are open throughout the year).
Freshwater Bay is the perfect holiday destination away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Freshwater Inn is the local public house and serves excellent food, with the village of Lamphey a mere two miles away with its local bakery, shop/post office, garage and restaurants 'The Lantern ' and 'The Dial Inn'. 'The Lamphey Hall Hotel' has an excellent restaurant and 'The Lamphey Court Hotel' with its restaurant and spa is open to non residents.
A short drive to the local beauty spots of Stackpole Quay with its superb tea room and the famous Lily pools at Bosherston, the beaches of Broadhaven South, Manorbier, Skrinkle and Swanlake Bay. Barafundle beach was recently voted one of the best in the UK. Historic Pembroke is only four miles away, with its mill pond walk taking you around the walls of the medieval castle. Tenby and Saundersfoot are within an easy 30 minute drive.
There are lots of attractions, sports and places to visit in Pembrokeshire so no matter the weather, there will always be something for everybody to enjoy.
Situated on a large Holiday Park just yards from the beautiful sandy beach of Freshwater Bay and close to the coastal path, this comfortably furnished terraced Chalet is an ideal choice for a family holiday. There is a bus service - the 387 Coastal Cruiser- which visits popular coastal locations in the vicinity
Freshwater East - a wide bay of golden sand backed by dunes with a stream running through the beach at its southern end. At low tide the sea reveals plenty of sand for all those ball games without worrying the neighbours. At low tide, the low cliffs at the eastern end provide some nice private 'bays'.
Awards: Green Coast Award and Seaside Award (Rural) 2012.

"Freshwater East Perfect!"
Hi Liz, Hope you are well. Thank you for your holiday home. It was very comfortable and clean. I certainly would like to go there again on short notices if the weather permitting and of course if there isn't any prior bookings. Take care and all the best.
Regards, pooja williams

"Parfait pour une semaine au calme et près de la mer !"
Partis avec notre fils de 3 ans, ce fut l'une de nos meilleurs vacances. L'endroit est calme et la vue magnifique si le soleil est de la partie. L'appartement comporte tout le confort nécessaire pour ne pas se soucier du quotidien mais profiter du cadre et des sorties.
Je recommande cet endroit pour tous ceux qui souhaitent profiter de la nature et sortir en famille pendant ses vacances.

"Best relaxing family holiday in UK"
I stayed here last July with my then 2 year old and 4 year old and my husband. We were a little concerned with what the weather would be like as we normally spends holidays abroad. I can say that it was absolutely wonderful. There is so much to do, the complex is wonderful and the beaches so clean and picturesque. My children loved the idea of 'living by the sea'. The apartment is brilliant it caters for everything, there was nothing we needed and the whole booking and organising the holiday was so easy and stress free. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anybody families or singles or couples. Already booked for 2013.
