The Cornwall region
Killigarth Manor offers a superb holiday for all the family nestling in the rolling countryside of Cornwall's sunny south coast,.there is a delightful public footpath to Talland Bay with it's pretty beach and splendid cafe ...direct from Killigarth Park. You are surrounded by a choice of beaches and only a short distance away from the picturesque fishing village of Polperro and slightly further is the famous harbour at Looe where you can even try shark fishing!
Killigarth Manor is a peaceful holiday park where you can easily get from to visit many places of interest..Polperro is a chocolate box village with a small beach and there is the pretty beach at Talland Bay..Looe is 10 mins away with lots of quirky shops and tea shops. There are lots of scenic walks.
40 mins away is the picturesque fishing village Mevagissey where you can spend a few hours and then hop on the ferry to the upmarket town of Fowey..difficult to park so a great way to visit. In the same area is the famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan which had a series on BBC2 recently.
Further down the coast there are lots of fantastic gardens to stroll around with Trebah, my favourite,on the beach. Lanhydrock House is a wonderful place of history and you can go back in time looking around ..and seeing how they lived years ago ..upstairs and downstairs.
St Ives is an hour and a half away but worth the trip..a beautiful town with lovely shops and an amazing beach with golden sands.
Cycling from Padstow to Wadebridge is a good day out and always an ice cream at the other end! Visit Charlestown..Poldark land and you might see some filming among the tall ships.

"Fantastic holiday lodge in a beautiful setting"
We stayed for 9 nights over Easter with 6 of us altogether at varying times, all different ages and a dog. We were met by Linda the owner, who had very kindly taken in our ordered shopping for us and then provided us with a lovely cream tea! The accomodation is spacious, spotlessly clean, good quality towels, bed linen and crockery and comfortable. It is an excellent location for exploring Cornwall and has a terrific cliff top walk into Polperro. The facilities on the park itself include a pool but we were out all day every day and so did not use them. A good place for dogs as well as there is a big field right outside your front door! A very enjoyable holiday and i would definetly stay at the lodge again.

I would love to say I couldn't possibly recommend this lodge for Christmas, but this would be entirely selfish in the hope that I can do the same this year! :-). We have returned to our home in Bulgaria having spent a lovely family Christmas in the beautiful lodge. The lodge itself is fabulously furnished and comfortable although with it being Christmas we did bring a few extra bits of equipment, this would not be at all necessary for a stay at any other time of year as the kitchen is really well stocked. The decor is superb in my opinion and shows the owner has very good taste, the Christmas decorations were subtle and muted no room for gaudy in this environment! As a family we have varied needs, Dad has limited physical abilities and comes with a dog and we also had our 2 yr old Grand daughter and a couple of generations in between so great to have the two bathrooms. For us as a family, the priority was to enable us to spend quality time under the same roof for the festive season, the lodge was perfect, adequate space for all, including a trampoline and a rocking horse! Linda and Steve the owners are an exceptionally friendly and welcoming couple providing all guests with a delicious cream tea on arrival and ensuring basic provision needs are met, e.g. loo rolls etc. and a cart is on hand for carriage of luggage and in our case copious quantities of food and drinks. Deliveries can be made for consumables via on line shopping but I prefer self selection. The quality of the furnishings in the lodge is excellent, far higher spec than usual for a rental property. The lodge really does feel like a home from home and we were able to enjoy peace and privacy within it. Whilst there, the on site facilities were closed, this meant no access to wifi, a small draw back for us, but from what we could see through the windows the pool appeared nice, our Grand daughter and I made full use of the children's playground which I found well laid out with good attention to safety. I can imagine that a family stay in warmer weather would also be delightful, there is plenty of outside space on the decking which has been landscaped with a variety of shrubs and evergreens and room to the side for a paddling pool for kids to have splashing fun. I have no criticism of this lodge whatsoever having sought using the criteria disability friendly, child friendly, dog friendly and smoker friendly it lived up to expectations and would whole heartedly recommend it. Linda is a lovely lady and maintained regular contact via email and telephone ensuring that everything was as perfect as we could wish for.

"Luxurious, Comfortable Lodge"
We stayed at this lodge for two weeks and took our dog with us. Linda the owner met us and left us some lovely scones with clotted cream and jam so we could sample the cornish cream tea. The accommodation was outstanding the pictures you see on the website do not do this property justice it has to be seen to believe how lovely it really is. Linda was very helpful and accomodating. The only downside to our holiday was coming home. Thanks so much Linda for a wonderful stay hope to see you next year!

We returned yesterday from just under a week's stay at Linda's lodge and I cannot state highly enough how lovely this experience was. The lodge is spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and met all our needs; not an easy task when you consider that we were a party whose ages ranged from 69 to 2 and a half. We enjoyed the swimming pool and play area on site, the local shop and the take away area. It was noticeable how friendly and helpful everyone was, which added to the overall ambience of the place. I should mention just how tranquil this place is; very picturesque with breathtaking views. You will not be disappointed. A car is a must to take in local attractions which for us included visits to three beaches, (due to the surprisingly amazing weather!) ,Looe and Polperro. This place is a real find; Linda's friendly and warm manner made the ease and arrangements of this holiday effortless. A delight.

I have given feedback to the owner, so hopefully the owner will have changed the property description:- (1) Wifi available in Kiligarth Manor 5 mins walk away, but not in lodge itself (2) Sleeps 6, but 2 of the beds are only 5ft 7 long! (3) Difficult for people with restricted mobility to access- slopes and steps. I have recommended to Linda to improve the following:- (1) Provide a welcome pack of info about the lodge property and Killigarth Manor. Linda had to send a substitute to greet us and there was no orientation. (2) Provide a waterproof cover to luggage trolley so that your luggage doesn't get soaked if you arrive in the pouring rain, as we did. (3) Have a first aid kit in the lodge, so that if you have an accident as I did on the slippery steps of the lodge entrance, there are bandages immediately to hand to dress the wound. (4) Provide clear instructions of where to dispose of rubbish. There was a bin behind the lodge, but that was full of gardening tools, so I just left my rubbish beside it, only for the crows to have a feast and strew the rubbish around the garden. Having picked it all up in the pouring rain, I emptied the bin of gardening tools and put my rubbish inside instead. Apparently there is somewhere else to dispose of rubbish, but having been provided with no orientation, I still do not know where to this day. Hopefully Linda will make these changes. According to her, I am the first person ever to complain! Directions to property were good and cream tea was nice. Unfortunately the weather was foggy and soggy, but that is the risk you take if you holiday in the UK.
I am sorry I had to send my partner Steve to help my guests as I had to work. He offered to help take there luggage but was refused as they wanted to wait until the rain stopped. I rang when I arrived home from work to be told they were happy. I make every effort to make sure my guest have a good holiday, providing many extras and any assistance they might need. Unfortunately I cant help the weather. The WiFi is in the Reception along with all other guest information a two minute walk.

"A brilliant weeks holiday!!"
We have just come back after spending a lovely week at the lodge. The lodge is perfect, spotlessly clean, with everything and more that anyone could need. It is located in a beautiful area, with some good coastal walks. On arrival we were greeted with a delicious cream tea...just what we needed after a long journey. The John Fowler site was perfect for us, not too big but enough to keep the children happy. I would certainly recommend the lodge to friends. A recommendation from the children "Lets come back here EVERY school holidays!!!" Thanks Linda for a lovely week.

"Everything you could want!"
My family and I stayed in the lodge at the beginning of August this year. The lodge is immaculately presented and has everything and more that you could possibly want or need from a luxurious holiday home. Linda's welcome, including home-made cream teas was a lovely touch and the lodge served as a comfortable and very pleasant home from home. Killigarth Manor is a little basic but has everything you need. The lodge served as the perfect base-camp for many wonderful trips around the surrounding Cornish countryside. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone, my family, including our two young children had a great time, thanks Linda!
