The Dubrovnik Riviera/Islands region

The Peljesac Peninsula is 60 km north of the ancient city of Dubrovnik and about 80km south of Split. Both cities well worth a day trip by car, coach or ferry. Peljesac has a long tradition of wine producing and growing grapes, olives, fruits and vegetables, so you can be certain that during your stay you will enjoy unlimited amounts of traditional Dalmatian products such as dried figs, homemade olive oil and wine of superior quality. Peljesac will spoil you with its gentle and pleasant climate, attractive pebble beaches, lush vegetation and rich shade of lush pine trees and olive groves.

Half an hour drive to local ferry to cross to Korcula Island. 10 minutes and you're in Korcula old town, a mini Dubrovnik and the birthplace of Marco Polo, numerous pavement cafes, restaurants and bars, also offering sandy beaches, private coves, yacht hire, sailing lessons, vineyards and wineries.

National park Miljet 40 min drive/coach/ferry away.

The monumental complex of Ston and its walls have a centuries-old history due to a rather prominent geographical location. Ston area was settled as early as the prehistoric times. The inhabitants of Dubrovnik built and fortified the town to defend Pelješac and to protect the salters, out of which they made a high profit.

When the construction of the fortification with 5.5 km long walls was finished in 1333, it was the longest fortification complex in Europe and the second largest in the world, after the famous Chinese Wall. Ston is a rich treasury of cultural and historical monuments.

Many of them are classified under the highest category of protection.

The tame and picturesque Mediterranean landscape makes this small town and its environment even more beautiful. Tourists are especially attracted by gastronomic specialties of the region, primarily oysters, mussels and other seafood that makes the Malostonski Bay famous. In other words, Ston should be visited and enjoyed in every sense.

"Outstanding location!"

Thank you for reminding me for to write a review.
Our family had most wonderful holiday at the Villa Mer coming from Switzerland it was very important to have a beautiful place to stay and not to be disappointed from viewing on the internet, so it was with great pleasure that we arrived to Peljesac to find this amazing Villa. Even though the owner just started with renting what used to be his house and we were his first guests and it was the end of the season when everybody was already tired of tourist they found time for us to make our vacation as wonderful as possible.
There was not one thing that was not perfect from the communication with his manager to the staff – they always found time to fulfil all our needs.
The house couldn't have suited us better with 9 adults and 3 children – there was something for everyone and lots of lovely spaces.
We just loved waking up in the morning and jumping into the clean sea right outside of our bedrooms that was such a wonderful experience.
I would definitely recommend villa Mer to anyone that is making a trip to the beautiful Croatia – you won't be disappointed – it was an absolute highlight for us – a big thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise. I would love to come again one day.
