Southeast of the city of Volos in central Greece, extends the peninsula of Mt. Pelion, known to everyone from the ancient years.

Here the gods of Olympus had their summer residences.

Here lived the wise Centaur Chiron, who taught demigods and heroes.

Here took place the first beauty contest - the Judgement of Paris, with the golden apple.

Here Peleus and Thetis, parents of Achilles, got married.

From here, finally, set off the hero Jason and the Argonauts for their Golden Fleece quest.

Nowadays, Mt. Pelion is one of the most beautiful places in Greece, if not in Europe (just see the map) and is considered the most densely populated mountain in Europe.

The Eastern side, steep and forested, faces the wavy Aegean Sea and the Western side, smooth and cultivated, the calm Pagasetic Gulf.

There are numerous little towns and villages on it, other of them on the mountain slopes and other on the seasides.

One of the latter, is the picturesque fishing village of Lefokastro, at the calm west side of the mountain. The ideal place for a relaxing holiday.

The settlement is 30 km from the city of Volos and 8 km from Argalasti town, seat of the local Municipality. In the village there are restaurants, coffee bars, mini markets and you can easily find everything you need on holiday.
