Our guests have a wide stretch of beach on which to relax on their sun loungers under sunshades.
An added attraction for the St James is the intimate presence of a large family of friendly turtles who have made their home in the waters in front of the hotel. The opportunity to swim with the turtles each morning has become a unique experience for our guests.
So, start your day with breakfast in the privacy of your own balcony, overlooking the Ocean, then you are free to relax in the tropical sunshine on the golden sands. A few steps out from The St James and you are swimming in crystal clear, calm waters, with the turtles to keep you company. When evening approaches, wander down to the beach with your favourite sundowner in hand, and sit and watch the sunset. Then fix your own barbecue on the sands and dine under the stars, with the gentle sounds of the ocean around you.

The St James Parish region
The St.James is situated directly adjacent to the sand and Caribbean Ocean, at the centre of one of Barbados's top beaches, Paynes Bay, on the beautiful 'Gold Coast' which lies on the Island's West Coast.
We are 30 minutes drive from the Grantley Adams Airport which lies on the South East aspect of the island. We are just 5 miles north of the capital, Bridgetown.
Holetown, one of the West Coast's main shopping, banking, dining and entertainment areas, is just 1 mile North of the property.
Paynes Bay area
The St.James is surrounded by many of the Island's Internationally acclaimed Restaurants and Hotels. About 6 Restaurants are within easy walking distance.
We are 1 mile from Holders Hill Polo ground, 1 mile from the famous Sandy Lane Golf courses, 3 miles from the outstanding Royal Westmoreland Golf Course and 1 mile from tennis facilities. Several Luxury Spas are within a couple of miles of The St James.
Our Ocean front location looks directly out to the magnificent sunsets in the West.
How to get there
Barbados is easily reached from the UK, with most major airlines offering flights including British Airways, Virgin and BMI.
St James is located a 30-minute drive from the Grantley Adams Airport (the only airport on the island), and the journey can easily be made by taxi. Taxis are available outisde the airport exit, and the journey to our hotel for 2 people should cost around 70 Barbados dollars (US$35).

i) All rates are subject to a 10% service charge and 7.5% VAT.
ii) Additional Bed/Person:
Dec. 16 to April 30 - US$75 per day
May 1 to Dec. 15 - US$45 per day
It is strongly advised that you take out travel insurance at the time of your booking!
Conditions and terms:
25% deposite required to confirm booking.
Balance of payment to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival date.
Both the deposit and the balance of payment are non refundable.
Therefore, all guests are very strongly advised to take out Holiday/Travel insurance, once the initial booking has been made.
We suggest that this insurance should cover full refund of all costs for travel, accommodation, emergency medical treatment, loss of personal belongings etc, which may be incurred due to cancellation of your holiday either before the actual holiday dates or for termination of your holiday following arrival.
