The elevated landscape affords views of the breathtaking Caribbean sea to the west of the property and its location provides an easy 2 minute access to beautiful white sandy beaches. There you will find a truly stunning turquoise sea where you can engage in water-sports, swim with turtles or simply sunbathe. There is horse riding and other activities such as golf at the nearby famous Sandy Lane golf course.
There are a plethera of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance or a 5 minute car or bus drive away to the next village of Holetown, which provides local banks, duty free shopping and local nightlife.

Open access to veranda from the living area, with table and seating, providing views overlooking a lush flowering front lawn.
The elevated landscape of the property also affords stunning views from the veranda of the Caribbean flora and fauna and of the breathtaking Caribbean sea to the west of the property. From the utility room there is access to a private lawned rear garden, with lush tropical flowers and plants, which provides outside seating for dining, sunbathing, lounging and drying facilities.

The villa is just a 2 minute walk down to the beautiful and breathtaking Paynes Bay beach, situated on the west coast of the Island and known as the "platinum coast" of Barbados, renowned for it's soft, white sandy beaches, turquoise sea and shady palm trees. Ideal for all water sports, sunbathing, swimming and even horse riding!
It is recommended that you take a walk along the coast where you will be enchanted by calm waters, magical flying fish and other nearby beaches such as Sandy Lane.
The Airport on the Island is Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) at approx 15 Kilometres from the villa and about a 40 minutes drive.
The capital Bridgetown is about a 20 minute drive away in the parish of St Michael.
A car is recommended for your sightseeing pleasure around the island, but not essential as there are frequent local buses and a bus stop at the end of the road.
Car Hire is available and can be arranged prior your arrival.
The St James Parish region
The beach at Paynes Bay is truly stunning. The water is turquoise and calm and perfect for swimming and water sports which are available locally.
It is located right next door to the famous Sandy Lane Hotel and there are several traditional beach bars and restaurants close by
There is a 24 hour gas station just a 10 minute walk away that has a well stocked mini mart for your convenience. Local supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away in both directions. Too relaxed to cook? No problem the villa is set in an ideal location for local cuisine, with beach bars and restaurants within walking distance.The local buses in Barbados are frequent and there is a bus stop at the end of the road.
Truly recommended is a trip on one of the "reggae buses" colourful vibrant and sure to put you in a rhythmic mood! The next town of Holetown is a short bus ride away, providing a post office, local banks and a new retail shopping mall providing duty free shopping, plus excellent bars and restaurants. Fancy a bit of golf or tennis? The villa is situated just 400 yards away from the famous Sandy Lane golf course and 10 minutes drive away from Royal Westmoreland Golf Course and Tennis facilities at the Sugar Hill resort.
Not to be missed is a trip to Bridgetown the Island capital, the island safari tour, Harrisons cave, the islands natural wonder and the many flower gardens.
Also recommended is a sample of the Islands favourite tipples, Banks beer or mount Gay rum, preferably in a local rum shop for added Bajan authenticity.

"Comfy Villa a short stroll from the beautiful paynes bay"
Thankyou for a lovely stay - the locals in the street made us feel so welcome and the villa is well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable holiday in the carribean, including some board games which got a work out as well. Marcia is a pleasure to deal with in booking the villa and everything was as promised. The villa is just a tiny stroll away from the gorgeous carribean waters with good snorkelling and swimming with the turtles. Beats a hotel/resort any day!

"Great location at Paynes bay."
Great holiday. Nice neighbours, family of the Villa owner. Felt very secure. Would go back. West coast, St James very close to Paynes Bay just a two minute walk. Good local restaurants nearby. Vics was a favourite. Daphnes was Divine!

This guest booked a 5 week stay at Damas Villa, well in advance.
He paid a non-refundable deposit and received a full contract with all terms and conditions.
He also paid a refundable damage fee, which was returned to him at the end of his stay on inspection of the villa.
Guests at the villa are encouraged to inform us at every stage of their stay if they are unhappy withany aspects of their accomodation so we can rectify problems in advance.
This guest did not do this at any stage, despite this being highlighted again within the contract.
Guests also have access to my email and numbers both in the UK and Barbados should there be any problems.
Unfortunately after having planned a 5 week holiday with his wife, the guest in question was called away to a business meeting in Canada after only 24 hours stay at the villa!
Both he and his wife were devasted, who wouldn't be?
As a good will measure we offered an alternative stay at the villa for another date in the year.
We suggested that his wife could stay on and thirdly we suggested that the guest recoup his lost funds through his travel insurance.
The guest rejected all 3 suggestions and demanded his full balance back, which we do not agree to and which is made clear in the contact.
I can understand this guests anger at not being able to stay at the villa after only 24 hours.
It is lush, beautiful, set within walking distance of a platinum idyllic caribbean sea.....however I can't accept misrepresentation.
The furniture is classic antique mahogany, there are continous improvements, with new features to arrive such as air-conditioning to all bedrooms and a wonderful spa jacuzzi!
Make him even angrier.....stay here and post your review after you've stayed for your whole holiday at Damas Villa in paradise!
