Home description
The villa benefits from its own private infinity pool (8m x 5m) surrounded by sunny and shady terraces with stunning views towards the east coast.
Inside the interior is light, cool and modern with a high standard of furnishings, fittings and electrical appliances. Four sets of patio doors open directly out onto the terrace that runs along the entire length of the house. For those travelling outside of the main summer season, it also has the benefit of underfloor heating throughout.
Villa Rosemary is located on the outskirts of the small village of Magazia where there is a small local supermarket, bakery, bar and taverna within walking distance. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 5-10 minutes drive from either of the 3 main coastal towns of Gaios, Loggos and Lakka with a choice of restaurants, bars, shops and car/boat rental. Villa Rosemary is well located for the island's extensive network of walks and trails and the local bus route.

The Ionian Islands region
The Ionian Islands comprise a main group of six - Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Ithaka, Cephallonia and Zante - that run down the west coast of Greece.
They benefit from reliable winter rainfall and are therefore much greener than many of the more arid Greek Islands, with extensive olive groves - carpeted with wild flowers in the Spring - cypress trees and vineyards.
Paxos / Magazia area
Barely 12km by 4km, Paxos is one of the smallest but most charming and friendly of the Ionian islands. It has featured in the Sunday Times top twenty great escapes and many visitors return year after year.
Its attractions stem from the fact that it remains relatively underdeveloped - with no airport, large hotel complexes or resorts - yet boasts an excellent choice of beaches (mostly white pebbles), crystal clear, turquoise sea, varied coastal and inland scenery, an extensive network of walks and small towns providing all you need for a relaxing holiday. During the summer months the harbour towns are home to an attractive mix of local fishing boats, yachts and luxury motor cruisers jostling for space along the quayside.
Motorboat (15-30hp) hire is also available allowing you independent access to some of the more remote parts of the island, isolated beaches and to the caves on the east coast. During the main holiday season there are also regular express boats to the neighbouring island and beaches of Anti Paxos and excursions to Corfu and the mainland.
Nightlife on the island tends to focus around the 3 small coastal towns of Gaios, Loggos or Lakka with their range of local bars and tavernas offering everything from local village cooking to more sophisticated international menus. However there are also two local village tavernas within easy walking distance of Villa Rosemary for those nights when you prefer to leave the car at home.
Keen walkers should obtain a copy of The Bleasdale Walking Map of Paxos - updated regularly and available across the island - to ensure they don't miss over 50 footpaths that criss-cross the island through the olive groves and along ancient donkey tracks.
How to get there
Paxos does not have an airport so most people fly to Corfu and then transfer by hydrofoil (1 hour) or sea taxi (1 hr 20 mins). Charter flights to Corfu operate between May and October from many UK regional and European airports. Easyjet operate a service from London Gatwick, Manchester and Bristol between March and November.
Alternatively car and passenger ferries run regularly in the summer from the Italian ports of Brindisi and Ancona and from Igoumenitsa on the Greek mainland.
Transfers from Corfu airport and car hire can be arranged on request.
